I think the structure is fine. The only issue i had is the length of time teams that won had to wait.

For Naas, Moorefield, Celbridge and Carbury after winnng Round 2 games in Aug( 1 month after last competitive game in the league) they then had to wait another 3 weeks, four in Moorefield's case.

There is no substitute for competitve games and while those teams were idle the teams on the other side of the draw all had competitive games. (Only Carbury from winners side progressed)

Its been a long time since every club in Senior/Intermediate Championships were stll playing Championship in September(Round 3 and Relegation games).

One Club Champ game in Aug & Sep is madness at that time of year. Games every two weeks would be perfect and would give All Champions in each grade sufficient time to celebrate and prepare forLeinster.

The league certainly needs looking at because it is becoming more irrelevant every year!!

I like the format that rugby league are using at the moment where the top 8 in the league progress to playoff's:

Top 4 play off 1vs4 and 2vs3 with the winners going to semis

5-8 play off and losers go out - winners play losers of 1-4 in effectively a quarter final.

This will leave 4 teams to contest semi finals and then final

Im aware this adds games so why not scarp the early season cup games and start the league two weeks earlier???

Teams finishing at the top still get rewarded and it will give a nice edge to a lot of league games coming towards the end of the regular games and then great preparation for championship in the playoff's. In regards county players at this stage no league games should be delayed for them. we need to put more importance on year long football for our club players and not have everything decided in a month!!!

In fairness there was a 'motion' put forward at beginning of the year to have semi finals in league but clubs said no. We need to make sure our club reps all agree (and put forward) to some sort of change if thats what we want.

I think the championship has been great this year, all games had something riding on them which made them all exciting and competitive.
The junior championship could probably do with a new format too, which would be difficult with only 10 teams however.

By the way i think Ger donnely has done a great job in his first year over fixtures.Well done to him.

Put the idea forward at your own club and if its accepted you have a proposer for it at CB.

The club could circulate to all other clubs to try to generate support.

At least if delegates are going into CB with instructions you have some chance but themn its not so long back that Kildare Delegates to Congress were instructed, by Convention or a CB Meeting to support something and they did not !!!!
