I would just like to wish the Moorefield senior team the very best of luck as they start their Leinster Campaign next Sunday against St.Martins in Wexford Park.

Best of luck to the Moores on Sunday. St Martins have a couple of good players in Ciaran Lyng and Daithi Waters but I think Moorefield should be too strong if their heads are right. Moorefield's forward play has improved a lot this year and I think they have a decent chance in Leinster.

Good luck to moorefield think they should be well capable of winning but as we all know playing away from home is tough in Leinster club competitions, moorefield have the experience I am going to predict moorefield by 5pts +

Fair play to Moorefield - 2-13 to 4 pts is not to be sniffed at away from home. Tougher tests to come starting with the next round.

Good win today for the Moores. Good to hear David Whyte back chomping at the bit and it sounded like he really turned it on. At least they will get to see their opposition next weekend....

Well done to Moorefield on the win yesterday. Winning by 15 points away from home in Leinster is a good days work.
Moorefield are creating loads of chances, defending really well and are flying fit but I think they need to be more clinical in front of goal if they are to progress. They can't afford to squander as many chances as they did yesterday, particularly if they are playing Portlaoise or Vincents.

Moorefield created 5 solid goal chances in the first half. Keeper made 2 great saves. Dropped a few efforts into the keepers hands but aside from that were pretty efficent in front of goals as the scoreline suggests on what was a difficult pitch. SOme days they will all go in but goals will win matches especially in November and December when conditions are tough.

Loved the confidence shown by some of the younger players and Roli was superb yesterday. As mentioned Dave Whyte looked really good when introduced.

Moorefield should feel very good heading into the semis. If as expected it will be Portlaoise it will be a massive test against a strong experienced club but The Moores have no fear and will be confident of their own ability thats for sure.

From the interviews they sound like they are enjoying it and are really looking forward to the semi final Good to see a Kildare team winning so comprehensively. Would be good to see them in the final.

They will easily beat portlaoise and as I said at the start I expect them to be in a Leinster final against Vincent's who are very beatable .

Both Connolly and Brennan will be back for the final and I would fancy Vins to beat Summerhill even without those 2. Having seen Portlaoise play Sash twice this year, I would expect Moorefield to account for them easily.

I feel that Longford Slashers could run Portlaoise close.

Reading on HS forum that Dave Whyte won't be available for next round, does he have more army comitments to attend to? Will be a loss for Moores if not available, however he didn't start either of the last 2 games and I actually believe having Glavin at midfield rather than centrback gives a better balance to the team.

Portlaoise needed extra time to beat Longford Slashers 1-15 to 3-7. Portlaoise did well to come back considering they were 8 points down at one stage in the 2nd half. I still fancy Moorefield to win next week.

Congrats also to Twomilehouse who beat Fenagh 1-11 to 1-5 in the Leinster Junior semi.

Well done indeed to TMH - the strides taken by that club in the last few yeas have been phenomenal when you consider where they stood 20 years ago as a tiny club who used to be everyone.'a whipping boys. I have no connection with them but my hat is off to them.

Portlaoise are there for the taking, I was up there yesterday, Moorefield should handle them comfortably.

While I reckon Moores will win, I can't see it being comfortable, Portlaoise are battle hardened at this level of football and showed great character to come back from 8 down yesterday to win, that can have a galvanising effect on a team. Given that they have been out of action for 4 weeks and have had to deal with a tragedy in that time, it was a very good win for them against a Slashers side that had thrashed Rathnew in the previous round.

I would call it 60 - 40 in favor of Portlaoise,There have a lot of experience on there side and also have home advantage which counts for 2 to 3 pts before a ball is kicked. Moores will have to start there strongest team to begin with, as they cannot afford to let Portlaoise take any kind of a lead.
Looking at there last match in wexford i think they will start Dave White as he looked in top form when he came on. Moores need all there big players to perform on the day if they want to break down Portlaoise who are a very Hardened team and have good players in Craig Rogers, Bruno Mccormack and Conor Boyle.

Think that game was a bad outcome for Moorefield. It would have been better if Portlaoise had an easier win but to come from 8 points down at one stage to win in extra time will have done their self belief a world of good. They dont have to try too hard to come out of Laois and will get stronger as they go on. Moorefield have been scoring goals this year and will probably need a couple on sunday.
Best of luck to them and it would be good for Kildare football to see them win the title.

It was a woeful game though lads - if Moorefield don't beat what I saw on Sunday, I'll be surprised.
