| I see the great man has officially announced hi retirement today, his time as manager of Kildare was the best this county has seen, 5 Leinster finals, 2 victories as well as a National League Final and of course the All-Ireland final in 1998, I would like to wish him all the best in his retirement and thanks for the great memories during his time managing the county!! | |

| Good atricle. Great man. He gave Kildare GAA a much needed boost in the 90's. Never forget the road to the AI in '98. If only.... | |

| Legend, he probably did more for the GAA than any GAA president did in all those 60 years and yet he was always treated as a pariah by those in administration. Not even considered for the Ireland job was a disgrace. Enjoy the fishing Micko!! | |

Spot on SC.. While He might have announced His retirement from Management.. He would consider an " Assistants or Advisery Role" .. Some Man He is. | |

| Anyone who followed Kildare through the 1980s will appreciate the extent of this man's legacy. He put the pride back into the white jersey and raised the profile of football in this county. He helped bring silverware that most thought we would never see again and he did it all with a smile on his face. I've heard him say before that he enjoyed his stints with Kildare over any of the other teams he has been with. He certainly seems to have a real grĂ¡ for Kildare people and this was always reciprocated by the Kildare support. | |

| The only day that came close to any of the O'Dwyer days was Meath in 2010. |
