Just wondering will the fallout from the debacle of the Brooks concerts in Croke Park have a knock down effect on our clubs and club members.

We are all hearing about the loss of revenue to our economy but no one has yet mentioned the cost to the promoters and the GAA with possible law suits coming down the tracks from Mr. Brooks for i would guess in the region of 20 to 30 million, taking in ticket sales, loss of revenue from merchandise, his music dvd which was to be filmed and the amount of work which I am sure has gone into preparing for the show since last January, what with a ship on the ocean at the moment. Also add in another million or two from Ticketmaster for their time and effort in selling and refunding. Someone will have to cough up for these costs and if the GAA are hit I can see them losing their case as they had only permission for 3 concerts already used up by One Direction.
Will these costs in some way hit the ordinary GAA club, re decrease in grants or increase in price tickets next year, etc.

Words "AMATEUR ORGANISATION" spring to mind,

The Amateur only applies to the Players.. Im sure there is plenty of Money resting in the GAA Vaults..
NIKE might be on the look out after pulling the plug on Man UTD.. Something like " The Croke Park Nike SKY Dome " springs to mind..

Why dont they just move the Concerts to Parc ui Caoimh or Thurles, and add an extra Day or Two, or maybe He could just play for a whole Week.

Not that simple to move all the equipment and stage from croker to a different part of the country. Logistic nightmare. Be grand if the other two gigs were on the week after croker ones but that would never work. Anyway.. not sure this has much to do with the lilywhites?

The only concern for the lillies would be the loss of the barrow loads of cash that the gaa said would go to the grass roots from the 900k profit per gig or the odd player up and down the county who is faced with telling his manager he cant play cos he has to bring the missus to see GB Very Happy

Now they want poor Garth to Play 5 Gigs in 3 Days.. what about Player burnout ? , surely Garth cant be asked to do this.. No wonder His Manager is Pulling Him out of the Squad (sorry Concerts)..  tongue
