Just wondering will the fallout from the debacle of the Brooks concerts in Croke Park have a knock down effect on our clubs and club members.
We are all hearing about the loss of revenue to our economy but no one has yet mentioned the cost to the promoters and the GAA with possible law suits coming down the tracks from Mr. Brooks for i would guess in the region of 20 to 30 million, taking in ticket sales, loss of revenue from merchandise, his music dvd which was to be filmed and the amount of work which I am sure has gone into preparing for the show since last January, what with a ship on the ocean at the moment. Also add in another million or two from Ticketmaster for their time and effort in selling and refunding. Someone will have to cough up for these costs and if the GAA are hit I can see them losing their case as they had only permission for 3 concerts already used up by One Direction.
Will these costs in some way hit the ordinary GAA club, re decrease in grants or increase in price tickets next year, etc.
Words "AMATEUR ORGANISATION" spring to mind,
