They were not great today but would not write them off. Going to be tough but we can beat them.

Thoughts?

Wouldn't be delighted with it as Grimely will know us inside out. Of course we can beat them but would be a bit worried...only a bit though!

Third Ulster team out of 4, draw has been unkind again. Saying that we should not fear them and after their display today if we get on top early we may do damage to their mental state.

Toughest draw their but you have to get on with it.

Take it the game is on next weekend
Any decision on time, date, venue or will it all be decided tommorrow??
Will be tough game no doubt but hopefully today will have taken it out of monaghan mentally, if not i still feel we have nothing to fear...

I'd image it could be in Croker with the Dubs game. Next Saturday or Sunday.

Without doubt the hardest draw in the pot. But there is incentive for the lads there to prove that grimley should have stuck with us.
More than likely in Croker along with the Dubs.
This is where the lads and management want to be.

On GAA website it says all matches next Saturday. I reckon Croke Park with Dublin/Louth game.

Have we single handedly got the job to knock out as many northern teams as possible.

On the dates and times, I hope it's next Saturday and in Croker as I feel the bigger the pitch the better we play.

The only fly in the ointment will be Louth as they may see Croker as an advantage to the Dubs and request their game to be played in Navan.

My guess it will be next saturday, qualifiers are played on saturdays usually. Would ticketmaster be the only place to get tickets?

Why should we play second fiddle to Louth Dublin to hell with them. Give Navan. Nothing to fear of Monaghan or Grimley, just hope we come through it unscathed.

I think we will beat Monaghan by 3-4 pts they have 3 or 4 players out 6 days to turn it around heads down I agree Grimley is a big factor but lets look at ou positives I feel it will be another green jersey day its becoming a lucky one we beat monaghan last year up in clones in year league and also in the green Very Happy

It would be nice to show Grimley the error of his ways.

In his first year there I can only see Grimleys influence in brief flashes (only when ahead). There is a mindset in Monagahn that is very hard change. They were a team I always hated watching because it was so so cynical, worst team for it.

We cannot afford to let them get a head of steam and that means us keeping on par with them and frustrating them. They will target players and the referee will have his hands full. McGoldrick today was a joke and let awful off the ball stuff go. Freeman (wing back) should have got 4 yellow cards and only ended up getting 1. As for butty Woods love to know who is gonna take him up.

I still hope it's not a double header because it will all be about Louth, their baggage and Dublin, what will Pat Gilroy do now with our match being the side show. At this stage we deserve better.

My initial thought was double header Croker, but when I think about it, Louth will probably travel in great numbers in sympathy, and what better than to beat Dublin?. The Dublin support has been pretty poor for the last two games, but that win over Armagh might rekindle a bit of fire in their waining support, if the sun shines I can see 60 thousand plus for that game alone.

I agree stonecold Navan would be just perfect for both Kildare and Monaghan fans, just a word of caution lets not lose the run of ourselves we won well yesterday but as Johnny Doyle said himself after the game its just one more step we haven't won anything and we are looking no further than our next game, one game at a time guys!.

This will be a massive test for what must be a tiring kildare team, especially big dermot.Grimley will know that if he stops earley it will give them an advantage so expect clerkin to be as cynical as he had to be which is worrying because earley is not fully fit and isnt gonna get fit and injury free in 7 days.
I would start sweeney midfield(or white or o connor) and leave earley full forward then bring him out the field after the game has settled down a bit.
They can certainly beat monaghan but i fear it'll take so much out of them that they'll be drained come quarter final a week later and barring a good draw against the rossies then i think it'l be a step too far for these brave lads.Best case senario is that monaghon put so much effort into ulster than they won't be mentally strong and if we get a good start then push on and win, hopefully being able to make a few subs early in second half(again mainly earley).
One thing i will say is Mcgeeney will be a lot happier with the draw than grimley.

I would think that training has not been to demanding and the players would prefer to play a match than a hard training session.

We should not fear Monaghan in the slightest, respect them for the good team that they are but they one thing this Kildare team has and Grimley will know it isa the will to win. After their defeat to Tyrone the last type of team they would want to come up against is Kildare who will chase them all over what ever pitch we are playing on.

As for Dermot, the man knows how to look after himself and the likes of Clerkin he has seen and beat before.

I think Monaghan will fear us more than we do them. We are getting things right now while they are having to pick themselves up big time. The last time they played us they threw everything at us, including the kitchen sink and still couldn't beat us.

Lads, its gonna be very tough, Monaghan will be very down after yesteday i know but they are quite a physical side who hit hard on and off the ball and i would be worried that our lads, playing their fifth game in as many weeks, after going to be tired, sore?

Despite tghis being their 5th week on the road, the lads are showing no signs of tiredness to me.

With the exception of the first Antrim game they have not gone into the last 10 minutes in any game where it was in the melting pot and they had to call on all their fitness and energy to win the game.

Earley always looks tired and weathered, thats just his demeanor.
There is plenty of Gas left in the tank yet, from all the lads.

Monaghan will be tough however. They will not play as badly again as they did against Tyrone.
And they will want to make up for it big time. I dont suspect there will be any hangover from the Ulster final.

Tough draw but winnable.Limerick would be tougher.Peter Canavan was saying on friday that the Ulster final was the be all for Monaghan in 2010 and defeat there would leave them very vulnerable in the qualifiers. So I am expecting a Kildare win but there will be no quarter given in this one given the league game in Clones a couple of years back.I think that all the provincial final losers will be beaten next weekend.

Great win in Derry no matter how poor Derry were.Always difficult to win up there. The Geezer might announce the same team but expect a couple of changes from the start given that some of our younger players are starting to blossom.

Onwards and upwards !!!!

We have won the last three games well before they finished.
Yesterday it was over with about 20 mins to go. The Leitrim game was not a full pace because fo the weather and it to was over with 15 mins to go. The Antrim game was only a 35 minute job because they never got going in the first half.

They may have played 4 games in 4 weeks but lets be honest they were at full tilt for about a third of that.

The back room prople, Physios and trainers seem to be very competent and will have the lads just ticking over during the week.

Monaghan I think are in worse shape Physically as they have a few injuries by the looks of it.
