Congrats to all the winners, well deserved each and everyone of you. But on the other hand, shame on you County Board for such a lack of respect for these guys...they deserved a lot more than just a buffet dinner in a club hall on a Friday night, especially considering that two All Ireland hurling titles were won this year...no throw-away comments please that they were only the Ring Cup and U-21 'B' because that would be even more ignorant of so-called Kildare GAA fans.
This night should be about bringing together the wider Kildare GAA community, remembering the year just gone and acknowledging the efforts and rewards of all involved, for them to celebrate their successes with their families, club mates and friends etc.
If money was tight, get a sponsor or sponsors and charge per ticket (at a reasonable rate)...afterall, it's these guys who have our County Board rubbing shoulders with the top brass of the GAA in Croke Park or O'Moore Park or O'Connor Park etc, not because the CB are particularly good at their jobs.
