Any truth div 1 will be run as two groups?

The first thing that struck Me was why so many Teams in Div 1 and 3 and then only 7 in Div 2 ?.. and the mighty Balyna in Div 3 ?.. Did someome not mention they have 6 Players on the Edenderry School Team.

Kilard are a mix of Kill and Ardclough, do not know the other two!

When does the minor league start?

This is the biggest problem with under age football imo. Until the county board appoint a grading committee rather than asking clubs where they want to play its not gonna stop.

Minor club league starts Sunday 15th and as far as I know the minor Leinster league matches are 14th, 21st and 28th, Kildare are in with Dublin, Clare and Laois but not sure in what order.

Going by the fixtures it looks like Dublin have 2 teams entered in the Minor league this year

Probably the most wide open of leagues this year in Div 1 & Div 2, be hard to pick a winner in each at this stage

Leinster Minor League Fixtures, first game Home to Laois, second game away to Dublin and home to Clare. Not sure where the home games will be played.

I agree, Smokey. The fiasco that went on the minor Championship last year was a disgrace. Clubs trying to build for the future success on one side and clubs trying to demolish for present success on the other . IMO

Sarsfield 2 in Div 3 despite winning Champ C where as Leixlip and Rheban moved up. Here we go again Sarsfield posters. I suppose you can justify this??

Why is there a need for so many teams in div 1&3 and so few in div2 , you can be sure that 1 or 2 teams are not up to div 1 standard but clubs still persist putting them in just because it looks good on paper but not really fair on the lads involved

Teams being put in Div 1 and not able to compete is the lesser of 2 evils imo. 3 or 4 of the teams in div 3 have historically been stronger than the others. Clubs are trying to get silverware for themselves with no regard for the genuine div 3 teams. Will be interesting to see how many games have a greater than 10 pt score difference.

I agree totally with you Smokey , there's at least 4 teams in div 3 that would do quiet well in div 2 and that's why I don't see the logic in only having a 7team division. I was just thinking back to div1 last year where Kilcock only played 2 of their 8 league games and then refused to play their championship q/f against Sarsfields

Kilcock stepped up to the mark last year and put a team in Champ 1, the fact that they only played 2\7 games and were in a QF is a problem with the system, not Kilcock. The dogs in the street know that they asked the Sash to put out a compromised team in the QF and that they would give them the game as there previous encountered netted a 20 plus point beating. The Sash refused. Kilcock want to get lads out kicking a ball. as regards the Sash's teams in div 3, hyprocrites. A club that should have a team in 1, 2 and 3. but the plan of course will be to scrap into the QF in Div 3 and when the U16 League is over, sacrifice the lads that have played for them for the 6-7 games and replace them. Why are they are not in Div 2?. They only won the Minor Champ 3 2014????? I am sure the the pedastel will be dusted off soon. Smile

Yes caragh+robertstown will play as newtown gaels from u-14 up to u21 for at least this year and probably a few more

Sarsfield 2 beat leixlip and rheban in champ c in 2014 this year leixlip and rheban div 2 sash div 3 makes no sense

Think Rheban won an u16 div 2 league title after extra time v Raheens two years ago if memory serves me right. Div 2 grading would seem correct to me
