| Its separate to the secretary role. The secretary job is now voluntary and the new one has already been elected. They have a job like this in a lot of counties I think. Wicklow appointed one recently too. | |

| Would it be a position D Reilly might be interested in? It has the potential to be a more influential position than chairman | |

| One good thing I see is that the application process is being handled through Croke Park so this might lessen the chances somewhat of being landed with a candidate from the usual suspects. A number of appointments in the past have been on questionable grounds to say the least. | |

It's the equivalent then of that full-time administrative role, been described as chief executive in some counties - anyway, every county board needs it now so good to see. Who's the voluntary county secretary by the way?

| Anyone have any ideas/suggestions that they would like to see implemented by the new Head of Operations? I know a huge part of the job will involve the re-development of Conleth's so I'd love to see someone with expertise in that kind of area. Hugely important that we get this right | |

| First on his list should be sorting out St. Conleths. Hopefully he has connections in Croke Park and gets some funding to upgrade the facilities. | |

| Best of luck to him, it certainly is a wide ranging role. Couldn't care less where he's from, people settling in Kildale have more than done their share both at club and county level over the years | |

| Seems an odd appointment at first glance, why would a man with an army background have any knowledge of the commercials aspects of this job?
I would have thought the successful candidate would have had a background in private business.
