What about grassbanks on three sides fans not allowed on them under health and rules, Croke Park force London to play All their. League games away last year when Ruislip was being redeveloped this why they have all home games this year. Grass banks were in use in Ballyshannon no problem. Open construction area in fact behind one goal. why in Navan nobody allowed Stand on grass banks behind both goals. Where scoreboard was in ballyshannon that pile of clay from construction

| So clay and rubble ok but not grass? Ok then..
Not arguing with you Fone... beef is with stupidity of H&S and GAA rules.
Thousands have been injured standing on grass banks I’m sure. What about concerts in Slane etc?

| If ground is closed in 2020, will the county finals be held in Hawkfield or will e have to ask Portlaoise/Tullamore/Navan for permission to play there? | |

| Apparently County Board has a breakfast briefing this morning where the project funding was discussed/outlined. Anyone on here got any insights? | |

| Read about it in the locals this week. Unfortunately as I suspected there is a hell of a lot of ifs and buts especially as regards funding. In the article they are already putting forward the idea of scaling it back and not putting in floodlights because they won't get the money required.
I'll definitely stick by the "I'll believe it when I see it" view.

| According to this week's Leader the county board are due to lodge revised plans for Conleths in the coming week. Plans to include a two tier stand, floodlights and corporate facilities. Ambitious plans costed at 6.5 million | |

| Very curious to see these plans. If they could join up the three terraces and add a two-tier stand, could be a really nice ground suddenly. | |

| Ah, pity, while spending that much (if it happens) and with everyone and everything on site, cost-reward would be well in their favour. Basically some concrete in two corners. | |

Plans submitted last Friday. As fone says stand will be replaced and will hold 3,000 with a Club Kildare section. 4 dressing rooms under the stand. Minimal work is being done elsewhere - no work on terraces. Floodlights to be installed.

| Just thinking there on those numbers Jimmers, and more anxious still to see the drawings, as a 3,000 stand (Google a pic) would be the Johnny King Stand at Prenton Park in Tranmere. That's just the length of a soccer pitch and is single tier and a mere 13 rows deep/shallow. Factor in the length of a GAA pitch and add another an extra tier and stay at 3,000? Is that even possible? | |

My understanding is that it is a single tier

| A bit more.meat on the bone as regards what it will look like put up on twitter. Have to say it does look impressive. Whether they can get it done is another thing but it would be a something to be proud of. Hopefully it gets done. | |
