Have to say Congrats to Kildare on your second successive promotion.........

I'm only "green" as my own have to fight over relegation to the basement with that misery shower....

So all the best for the day-out in Croker & in Div 1 nest year....

This Dublin unbeaten streak is phenomenal... Who would have thought that if you give one team a massive financial advantage over everyone else, endless resources, a bigger pick of players and the vast majority of their games at home that they'd dominate the sport.

Just how do they do it?!

Pfft... Giving one team a massive advantage over anyone else sort of defeats the purpose of sport.

Even if Neil Flynn isn't on the frees, I'd keep him in the side. He's a special player on his day, is still very young, and has huge potential.

Watched the TG4 highlights last night and was disappointed they never showed one of Feely's frees from the sideline. They were as good as any points you would see.

Good point well made Tommy. Would have to agree with Andy McEntee's comments in attached article also. The GAA have completely lost sight of things with their desire of generating revenue . The game in general will be in complete car crash territory in the next few years, possibly is already you could argue, if things are not addressed very sharpish and I honestly can't see that happening with current mindset of HQ

Yep, absolutely, think sport is sick. Easy for Duffy to say "we are looking into restructuring it" but while money has helped Dublin reach one level it has crippled the sport in many counties and weakened it in others. Duffy gets off as being a good administrator because he's a likable guy. But this has happened before him and he's made his call. It's a business.

Just on Feely's suspension.....

From GAA Website

Summary of Disciplinary System

Suspensions

At all levels a Black Card results in a player missing the remainder of the game.

Additionally at Senior Inter County Level:

3 x Black Cards = 1 Game suspension

3 x Double Yellow Cards = 1 Game suspension

OR

A Combination of both (totaling 3) = 1 Game suspension

Only in senior inter-county league and championship games within the same year.

At All Other Levels:

2 x Double Yellows within 48 weeks = 2 week suspension

2 x Yellow followed by a Black Card within 48 weeks = 2 week suspension

OR

A combination of both = 2 week suspension

At all levels except senior inter-county league and championship.

My reading of this is that you have to have received the 3 in the same year to get a suspension.

If it is the 48 week rule, the League Final last year was 23rd April which was 48.2 weeks previous to Sunday. Make of that what you will.

I don't think he will be suspended but 1 more indiscretion and he is in trouble. Not a nice place to be looking into the summer.

If that is the case would it not be wise for Feely with about five minutes to go in Salthill to go cynic-mad, riding lads around on their backs and what not until he gets a black, misses the league final and has a clean slate for summer?

You would think that would be the thing to do, but will he want to miss out playing in Croke Park for a trophy. I don't think he ever got the chance at underage. It's a tough call for management, but I'm sure they will talk to him about it.

If he comes on with five to go get your money on him rugby tackling the first thing that moves in a maroon jersey.

Why, so you can feel all fuzzy and warm while riding into the sunset on that high white horse.

Such a strange thing to post. Lads commenting on a match they have just watched without some mystical foresight of the future.

I think that supporters in Leinster are just pissed off because none of Leinster teams have got near Dublin in the last 6 years or so and the easy option is to blame the money they receive.  You would think that they are unbeatable.  They beat Mayo by 1 point after 140 minutes of football last September and have drawn 3 of their league games this year to date, albeit to teams outside Leinster.

Kildare have cut back spending considerably over the last 2 years and have secured back to back promotions and I know that its championship that count.

Hopefully next year if we are scheduled to play Dublin in Newbridge that the county board doesn't agree to play in Croke Park as in previous years, its not all Dublins fault we are just as guilty by agreeing to such requests.

I was at the match last Sunday and thinking that this could be the last Kildare match in Newbridge until the O'Byrne Cup next January which is crazy. St. Conleths Park needs to be ready for qualifiers if we have to play them and are drawn at home.

I really believe that we will catch up with them, money or no money, on the field over the next couple of years and we will we will be more competitive and hopefully win a Leinster.

Would have to agree Rex... You would seriously need a LOT of time on your hands to wade through an O'Byrne Cup thread.

Maybe read O'Neil's comment on the Dublin game while you're at it Ogie especially the bit about being disgusted with the result. Probably not much different to what people said on here.
The main thing is he turned it around really quickly for the league and cant we all be happy with that. Wouldn't it worse if there was indifference instead of passion like there is in Laois right now.

Dead right Murof... There was the usual lazy journalism after Dublin game, Kildare fans so demanding blah blah blah - the usual rubbish. Whereas anyone with a brain could see it was Cian O'Neill - rightly by the way - who set the tone after the match.

Said he was disgusted by the performance, shouldn't happen, occurs too often with Kildare teams etc etc. So people need to get their facts right not peddle fake news, ha ha :-)

Can someone list the minor and u21 panels from the last 3 or 4 years? the big question for me is whether o neill can build a really strong panel over the next few years. having the strength in depth is what separates the div 1 teams from the rest imo
