| The sequel is on Sunday, part of a double header with Dublin and Kerry. Team will no doubt be much changed from the weekend with our first string back in. However it seems there is some strength in depth which could make the team selection a little more difficult.
Galway didn't look great but I think it was probably nerves more than their level. Walsh seems to be their strike runner and caused us a lot of problems. It will be interesting to see if he can have the same impact with Byrne and Doyle back in. Their backs looked like a weak link and our forwards never really tested them in a physical way. Cribbin and Conway's hard running might open them up a bit.
We've been able to watch them up close without giving too much away ourselves.
Team wise I expect the same as the Clare game. Biggest worry is Feely picking up a suspension. It would be nice if we could beat this lot for once.

| Have to disagree about difficulty of team selection. Picks itself given absence of the two Flynns with Healy and Dowling coming into the forward line. Prefer Kelly in the half forward line so I would leave Healy and McCormack in the inside line. Given space they can do damage to that Galway FB line. Despite the effort of the players yesterday no one other than Dowling and to a lesser extent McCormack really put their hand up to be included as a starter in a league final. Good sign of where we're at that the team picks itself though (bar injury). | |

What price would you get on an accumulator on Dublin, Kildare, Tipperary and Wexford Seamus?

| Thanks lads, think its worth a shot. Banty has Wexford moving well now, hard to have confidence in Westmeath in the league. | |

| Team selection I imagine will be same again from first six games with Healy and Dowling onboard.
Should be a great day with four teams committed to attacking football. Certainly, they all get players back to varying degrees but when they attack they all really go for it – none of the boring laboured crap you get from Nordie teams (despite J Brolly's propaganda).
Personally, I'm still not fully convinced by Galway. Lot of hype about them... Some smashing players alright but to me they are like Belgium in soccer – flatter to deceive. Totally collapsed against Tipp last year and our U16s ran them to a point at home last week.
We'll find out Sunday but certainly would be nice to finally beat them – as has been pointed out we owe them with interest at this stage.

| Hopefully Brophy back onboard next year alright... Throw in S Hurley and another tranche from last year's minors and we could "go places" over the next few years. Next stop Super 8 town, choo-choo! | |

| Can't understand why some think Sunday's final isn't important.. it's our only chance of silverware this year, and it's also a boost for the county and starved supporters to enjoy a win in Croker in a Final. | |

| Would agree Seamus... One of the things I admire about Jim Gavin is that he has banished forever the classically GAA notion that you can slack off when you want. He doesn't allow standards to slip and we should aspire to do the same.
Actually, scratch that – we NEED to do that if we're to progress. The idea that Kildare teams have somehow earned the right to phone it in during a national final is laughable.

| Also, it's our last meaningful game for... is it two months?
We need to get the maximum out of it performance-wise, momentum-wise and every other way.

| Where's this Brophy story coming from lads? Thought he was doing well down there?
Maybe he can get the whiff of an All Ireland challenge down there?

| Good question... Maybe some other posters could enlighten us?
Fair to say over the past few years, Kildare supporters have been itching to get Feely, Hurley and Brophy in the squad... Would be brilliant if we could make it happen next season.

I haven't heard anything concrete but Paddy has survived as a B list rookie this season for WCE. He's been down there for a couple of seasons now and if he was going to make it he would probably want to be making a debut for the 1st team this season. There's no sign of that happening so far in their first couple of games. For example the lads that have made it down there, Touhy, Sheehan, Clarke etc all made their senior debut within the first couple of seasons. I wish him all the luck with making a breakthrough but from a selfish, Kildare fan perspective I would love to see him back playing for Kildare.

Byrne is not part of the panel unless he has recently been drafted in.
