Looking at the Hogan Stand and it appears Meath made 12 changes for tonight's game against Wicklow.

One would imagine the Dubs won't be to happy about that although that said Wicklow did beat them last week.

Time will tell. Wicklow had to win to ensure a semi final spot and deny Dublin. Meath had nothing to play for so they didn’t mind missing out on a victory as they’d already topped the group. It’s wait and see

Meath gave Laois the mother of all hidings in their semi today. Will be hard to beat for whoever gets through tomorrow.

FT Kildare 3-13 Wicklow 3-13

Minors with a 4-point lead and only 90 seconds left in ET, hit with a real sucker punch of a goal - mix up between goalkeeper and a defender and then conceded a free which was the last kick of the game. Kildare had enough chances to win the game twice over but Wicklow never gave up.

Huge Wicklow crowd at the game. Replay likely to be midweek with Leinster final next weekend - crazy scheduling - whoever get through will have played 4 games in 10/11 days

Delay in throw-in due to size of crowd!

Martin Lynch & Sean McGovern involved with Kildare back-room team. McGovern related to one of the Kildare players...

Halftime Wicklow 1-7 Kildare 1-6

Proper championship stuff between these two teams. Reminds me of five-game minor series between Kildare and Dublin in 09/10.

Wicklow a serious outfit under Kevin O'Brien. Ging and Darcy roasting the fullback line and Keogh pulling the strings further out the field.

If Kildare can get tighter on those trio we have a great chance.

FT Kildare 2-12 Wicklow 1-13

Listening to KFM - great second half performance. Ball seemingly made an incredible save in the second half

Jesus, nerve-shredding stuff... The epic summer continues.

Defensive structure much better in second half and Lynch & Hill got much tighter in the full back line.

Still, took two majestic saves from Ball to win it.

Broderick and Kiely really put in a shift in the middle of the field and Curtin and Behan mighty when they came on.

There is serious talent coming through in Kildare... If we can properly harness this over the next five or six years, look out.

Next up Meath in Leinster final... There is huge pressure on them as they are being hyped to the Nth degree in their own county. If we win would be another huge psychological blow for Meath football.

Let's do it!

Meantime, congrats to the team and management and all those continuing to work so hard at underage level in Kildare.

The turnaround in fortunes we have had at minor and u21 / u20 since say 2008 haw been incredible. All credit must goes to the likes of david murphy noel mooney james devane decky o toole etc. If we are to see success at senior level in coming years its these guys who deserve our thanks and praise. Roll on 4pm today.

Come on the Lilywhites

Best of luck tomorrow lads - give your all for 70 mins and play like you can. Do that & Meath won't live with you.

Good insight into our underage revolution...

COME ON KILDARE. Huge challenge in the literal sense as this is a big Meath team but it's a Meath team that didn't handle the favourites tag in the Manning or Reilly Cup competitions last year. Hope the lads tear into it from the start and lets see how they like it.

Listening to it on the radio, it sounded like Meath got a good start and Kildare struggled and couldn’t really connect. To be honest if you needed a blow out and get a bad game out of the system today was today. Still there so certainly in with a shout.

Kildare looked dead on their feet today, games against Wicklow must have taken a lot out of the lads, whereas Meath were able to rest lads against Wicklow and had an easy semi final against Laois.

Back to the drawing board for Kildare before a tough game against Monaghan next week.

Shit happens. Forget about it. What's done is done. They have a big game next week. If they win that today will be forgotten about.

All previous posts are spot on. Meath were waiting in the long grass. Too many tough matches together. As Johnny Doyle used to say...we need to get back up on the horse....!
