| Pointed out for the last round too, but its so unfair that the draw was made sunday night before all games in the round were played. What was the rush other than to give the teams aleady through a distinct advantage? | |

| Difficult to see Leixlip beating Clane in the relegation final. They have very little penetration up front. Even allowing for the fact that they had a man sent off, not scoring from the 33rd minute for the remainder of the game against Eadestown doesn't bode well for them.
That said Clane are not going well either. Their side seems to change a lot from week to week. Danny Egan & Cian O'Donoghue didn't start against Castledermot, I presume because of injuries but were introduced in the second half. However, if they can get enough ball into Brian McLoughlin they should have too much for Leixlip.
One a separate note why can't Clane play by the numbers on the programme? Every week they've played in the Championship they've had at least 10+ players wearing the wrong numbers. Extremely annoying for spectators and for their opponents too I'd imagine ... or maybe that's the point!!! Mad Mad. When last did Clane and/or Leixlip win the intermediate championship ?

| TPOS we (Leixlip) last won an Intermediate in 1934. We were brought up from Intermediate in the 80s because of Jack O Sé joining the club. We won the Junior in 1980 last. | |

| I see the Junior A final Milltown V Rheban is on in Newbridge next Sunday but also on is the the Intermediate semi final of TMH v Nurney. I think this is an insult to both clubs in the Junior Final and also to long standing sponsor Tom Cross and not to mention the teams in the Minor C final, on now I think at 12.30am. If one was to visit the areas around Milltown and Rheban I am sure there is great excitement with displays of flags and buntings giving a sense of occassion to the day and I am sure both clubs will bring huge numbers to the final and should be a stand alone fixture together with the Minor C final as it always was, Minor A with senior final, Minor B with Intermediate final and Minor C with Junior Final. Surely this is a chance for the small rural clubs already struggling with numbers to promote the game in their area and have their day in the sun. I do not see any reason why the Intermediate semi final could have not been played at any number of venues, Naas, Clane, Round Towers, St Laurences, etc. | |

| What impact will the intermediate final have on Milltown and Rheban bringing supporters to a game and how is it an insult? | |

| Surely the intermediate semi will only add to the attendance and atmosphere for players and supporters. | |

| Has anyone heard anything about the injury Peter Kelly picked up at the weekend? Re-occurrence of the knee injury the word is. He came off and then returned near the end but sometimes you don't know the extent of these injuries. | |

| It's a pity they didn't put the 2 inter semis on Saturday. Kevin's and TMH are hot favs for both. | |

| Yeah it would have made more sense to have the two games together, but hey we don't always work with common sense here.
Hard to see past the two favourites but you couldn't rule out the two outsiders either. Could be a parish final if the underdogs come through..

| CB and common sense.. It's been a strange Championship.. TMH are the only Team left unbeaten in it.. both Monasterevin and Nurney suffered 2 defeats. | |

| Moorefield were dangerously impressive in the 2nd half against JTB, they were all over them in the first 15 mins before Mark Dempsey got injured, took the momentum out of a dominating Moorefield, but hell did they gather that momentum again in the 2nd half, JTB had no answer, Moorefield will take some stopping!
Where were all these so called county players?, Moorefields defence dealt with them with absolute ease, and Moorefield can barely get a player on the county team?

| Naas and Larries looked like 2 Teams not wanting to win.. with the winners playing Moorefield who blame them. | |

| But is that the issue for a lot of the games, so defensive and trying to negate everything. Then Moorefield await, a team who are far more organised than most in the county and who can lock a game down if needs be. They were rattled in the last few minutes of the first half in the JTB game but then locked it all down in the 2nd half. Teams need to have a cut off each other more unless the likes of the Moores who can actually dictate a game. | |

Celbridge 13/10 a bit of value ? Mentioned it on another forum so repeating myself but there’s not ever that much discussion of the club game on this site. This site comes alive if kildare are in the news but club isn’t discussed much from what I see. Seeing as the situation at county level is that we have a good team but are hopelessly short of Dublin’s level I don’t always understand the obsession with the senior kildare team but that’s just me.

The new format this year hasn't helped. Too many meaningless and lopsided games. Hard to keep up with it and how other clubs are doing.

| Have said it before a lot of people on this purely interested in county team and not as passionate about the clubs which is their choice and fair enuf maybe......... The amount of games has diluted the championship the amount of league games has dropped but overall same amount of games.... but increased revenue to county board from championship games.....

| to me its a Moorefield v Athy final still think its amazing how the county manager is from Moorefield and they have a poor show on county panel compared to the likes of JTB who we all knew they would beat in Championship football and have 3 starters on the county team....... hard to call Kevins v Monasterevan.... think monasterevan gathering momentum but hard to see part TMH overall....... Big thing for me is leixlip or clane going to be relegated from senior and Ballymore or Ellistown from intermediate | |
