| Would a double header in Conleths not be viable for the TMH and Milltown games? | |

| At the end of every game 50% think the ref was shite and the other 50% think he was shite but we won in spite of him riding us. Bit of a generalisation there but that's the general theme. Refs make mistakes, sometimes the conduct of the players and mentors on the line would cause the ref to go against them on the 50/50 calls. They're only human and are becoming fewer and fewer in the county so I think they probably need to be backed more by the county board. Too much going on at games nowadays that never see the light of day at county board or CCC | |

Committees only deal with what Referees include in their reports..... I always suspected that Refs were being contacted after games by interested parties to "edit" down and are aware of which clubs/counties have people on Refs Appointment Committees...........For example, Longford got very favourable calls from refs while it had power in appointment of Refs for Leinster games........... Up to refs to grow a pair and report what actually happens, come what may...

| I would suspect there are legal reasons as well why refs don't put everything down in their report.
As for refs being shouted at, I attended a few minor matches this year and some of the abuse that was dealt out would make me wonder should these "managers" be anywhere near a gaelic pitch, never mind directing young men.

| I watched the Galway v Kilkenny Sydney match on TV. Joe Canning was sent off during the game. In the post match discussion Michael Duignan stated that while the ref was right to the letter off the law he was wrong to send him off because people had come to see him play.
You see this narrative all the time, another one is that he is getting paid to listen to it.
Who would be a referee | |
