| A lot of bullshit spoken of this game mostly by people who weren't there. I was so here's the run down.
Allenwood full-back punched a Nurney player square in the face after about 20 minutes, the referee decided to give him a yellow. This is where it all began. Players are thinking I can do what I like here and there'll be no recourse. JD was doing a lot of mouthing and hitting off the ball. Not long after, the incident where he was allegedly struck took place, I didn't see it but he was down for a few minutes and the Nurney player got a yellow. JD then made a beeline for him in the next play and dragged him to the ground which should have been a black card for the great man. There was a melee involving 20 players and the Allenwood bench also waded in. Incredibly the referee blew for half-time and didn't hand out any cards. The second half was uneventful and JD went on to win the game for them. He kicked points from play, from frees, finished the game and was shouting all through the second half so I'm baffled as to how he or anyone thought his jaw was broken.
A nothing incident blown way out of proportion because it's 41 year old Johnny Doyle.

| That's not true stevie, Conway never threw a punch in his life.
The JD incident involved his man-marker so I don't know why he'd have to run across the field? Again, people guessing and speculating but weren't there.
I think in all the referee handed out 3 yellows and a black in a very heated game. He let a lot of things go unpunished.
Also, KFM are an absolute disgrace, the unbalanced nature of their reporting is laughable. Yes, the man is a legend in this county but stop throwing a whole club under the bus because of some one-sided, anonymous texts.

| Don't know what happened at the game. Wasn't at it but are you surprised its Nurney. The club has history of causing trouble on the field over the last few years and there are usually the same couple of lads involved. Wasn't there trouble at the Monasterevin game a few weeks ago when they were playing them. | |

| Seamus Confirmed here weeks ago that there was no punches thrown and only some pushing & shoving Again false facts. The team has had 1 player sent off in 4 years, so either this thing about them causing trouble is incorrect or else they are very good at getting away with it for 4 years.. | |

| I think there was a bit more than pushing and shoving . 2 players sent off. Incidents on the pitch for most of the game. I wouldn't be surprised if there is trouble next Wednesday evening when they meet again especially if the game isnt going Nurneys way. You know what they can be like at home | |

| I heard a UFO descended on Seán Tierney Park about 20 minutes in and members of the Allenwood bench were abducted, only to be returned 10 minutes before the finish when they claim to have been probed. Referee failed to so much as have a word with these ETs. | |

| Non event.. Nurney 1-4. Monasterevin 2-13. Bigger crowd than a senior championship match. | |

| Seamus I think there was a big crowd because some people were expecting a bit of handbags. Poor enough game. Nurney got off to a good start but soon as Monasterevin got the goal they were on top. Won at a canter. I say Nurney were warned about there discipline before the match tonight. | |

| Expertly refereed by Mr. Crawley I thought.. Nurney played with 3 sweepers and you're right, once they went behind they were buggered.. they'd no plan b and continued to play the same system. Interesting to see big Heff brought outa retirment for this one. Number 12 was a bit subdued tonight bigdog. | |

| I thought Cawley did a good job. Could have gave Kev Fitz 2nd yellow early in the first half, took the book out but noticed he was booked already. He was a lucky boy. Byrne was very quiet tonight. I was surprised to see big Heff playing. Thought he had retired. They had no plan B whatsoever | |

| Oh I know theres no dirt in him but I am just mentioning the tackle he put in after getting booked. Some refs would have produced a 2nd yellow but BC seen common sense and put the book back in the pocket. Even the Mons lads I was with thought he was lucky that there was a good ref out there this evening | |

| Good turnaround from Monasterevan to clinch promotion, with a few favours from other sides, especially Ballymore who recorded a strong win over allenwood last night. Can’t see them being stopped in the Junior this year. So that’s M’Evan and Sallins going up from 3. Rathcoffey relegated with one of Milltown and Ellistown to join. Caragh promoted to 3 to be followed by Rheban or Robertstown. Kevin’s and Rathangan relegated from 2. Disappointing show from Kevin’s with back to back relegations. Two strong senior teams in Raheens and Castledermot return to Div1 with Maynooth and Leixlip making the drop back to 2. Moorefield strong as ever, with other semi final places to play for .

| Some interesting form being carried into Championship from Junior and Intermediate teams if you are to read into league form v championship form, these are going to pull out some strange results this year, not sure what going on in Kevins and Rathangan and Ellistown seem to be on a very slippery slope...... | |

| With Moorefield beating Larries last night, one semi final is confirmed in that Naas and Sarsfields will play each other. Last spot to be decided today, Athy probably in pole position but only a win will get them through. | |

| Three Monasterevin lads talking to eachother about the game? Indeed that 15 should've walked in the first half but it would have made little difference, he wasn't up to much anyway. No.13 was the difference between the two teams. A fine player and it's a crying shame he wasn't involved much with Kildare this year. He'd improve that weak half-forward line immensely. | |
