| One or two on Naas CBS team this year, otherwise an unknown quantity to most (me included).
Would be brilliant if we could land one of the underage titles this summer after the shit-show we endured in the spring.
Doubt there's live coverage of this anywhere... Note to Kildare county board: there is a decent portion of us who can't make this game, and would pay to watch. Just takes mounting a single camera in St. Conleth's!! That's how enthusiastic/demented we are as supporters.
Best of luck to the team tonight – a great honour to wear the white & we're all roaring you on passionately.

| Good performances by Bagnal and Meehan in the forwards throughout. Conneely was very impressive in the 2nd half and was a good outlet for direct balls out of defence. Some of the free taking tonight was great to watch and the goal was worked very smartly near the end.
Looked a little nervous early on and Wicklow seemed to have a physical advantage around the middle and in their full forward line. Took until the final quarter for us to start dealing with the long balls in comfortably.
Wicklow pushed up on our kickouts and forced us to go long from the start which didn't hurt us too much at times. Gill was left as a sweeper throughout and was impressive in the 2nd half. Although it left Wicklow with an extra man for a short kickout every time they didn't use him as much as they could have which again helped us a bit.
Gave up 2 goal chances which would have changed things a lot, impressed with how they kept the heads when Wicklow drew level and had momentum behind them a few times in the middle of the 2nd half though.
Don't know where Wicklow got their full forward from but he dominated our full back line any time the ball went into him. Haven't seen a minor play like that and make it look so easy since Donie Kingston. Gill and O'Rourke did a good job breaking down balls into him late on though.
Plenty to be pleased about anyways, ran up a decent score in the end.

| Fair summing up iid. Wicklow certainly seem on an upward curve the last few years. Plenty to work on but good to get the ball rolling for this years class | |

| Couple of changes from the last day for tonights game away to Louth; Mikey Spillane from Athy comes into midfield replacing Kevin Eustace and Aedin Boyle from Balyna starts ahead of Johnny Owens.
Wicklow hammered Kilkenny last night and you'd expect us to do something similar in the final group game so a draw or win tonight should see us top the group.

| Decent performance tonight. Louth settled into it a lot quicker at the start but once we got going we looked pretty good, scored 7 or 8 unanswered points during the middle of the first half and started to pull away a bit.
Louth started to go direct a lot more in the 2nd half moving their centre back and one of the mids into the forward line. Not a whole lot of movement or running off the ball from them so once we got numbers back we did ok - gave up 2 goal chances when the Louth player took his point instead of holding onto the ball to take advantage of a possible 3 v 2 against our full back line.
Up front Conneely was very impressive moving between the full and half forward line, Browne was very good too which was great to see as it was Bagnall and Meehan who were the more impressive forwards against Wicklow so promising to see others put in that level of performance tonight. Some very nice points kicked and forced the Louth keeper into 2 very good saves shortly before we got the goal.
Good chance for a lot of rotation in the Kilkenny game next Tuesday too.

| Another good win, as I’ve said already on here, be great to pick up another underage trophy this summer.
So much great work being done at underage & schools level, hasn’t really translated to senior yet, but nothing else we can do except keep pushing.

| Yeah bit of a disjointed performance in the first half, Kilkenny started well in fairness to them and took a while for us to settle into it. Half our wides must have come in the first 10-15 minutes and went nearly 20 without scoring through the middle of the first half. Oisin Milmoe looked good and scored a goal and a few points within a few minutes of each at the end of the first half to pretty much seal it, problem for him is that 4 of our most impressive players in the first 2 games played most of their football in the full forward line as well.
Burke in goal and Flynn in midfield are the only 2 players to start all 3 games so plenty of players saw game time at least.
Whoever wins tonight between Louth and Wicklow will more than likely play the Dubs in the quarter final, with Meath playing whoever finishes 2nd in group 1, which could still be any 1 of 4 teams. Whoever tops that group (Laois as it stands) will join us in going straight through to the semi finals which are in 5 weeks time.

| I really don't mind about that score line. At minor level its all about the quality of the coaching. Teaching them the good habits and the good football skills. I really believe underage players form 10 to 17 are getting good coaching between schools and clubs.
My worry is it is destroyed by the senior team coaches of the clubs and county when they make the senior team.

| Agree on the score line anyways.
Going out and beating Kilkenny the way the Wicklow minors did wouldn't have been worth anything and nothing would have been learnt by either side really.

| Yeah he has been over this group for the last 3 years.
When they pulled out of minor football a few years ago he took over a development squad and under 14 and has managed to keep most of them together for the last few season. The plan was that when the under 14's reached under 17/18 they'd enter the Leinster championship again. Decent performances against Louth and ourselves for them at least.
The fear would be if they took a series of hammerings like they did against Wicklow that they'd just drop out again.

| The draw for the Leinster MFC semi-finals has been made.
Neighbours Laois and Kildare will face off in one semi-final, with Dublin taking on Westmeath in the other. Both semi-finals will be played on Saturday, June 22 at venues to be confirmed.

| Ha-ha – I don't care as long as they win! Be brilliant to be back in another Leinster final. Normally I'd go but won't be able to make it and annoyed I can't.
Best of luck lads, tear into them.

| Best of luck to the lads tonight. Won't be easy, its a better prepared Laois team than they've had in a good while and also they have home advantage. Surprised with a couple of selections so there may be late changes. Laois making a couple of late changes as well.
6th year in a row playing Laois at minor level and between minor, under 21/20 and senior league and championship, this is the 15th meeting between the counties in 10 years. The league in 2010 is the only time they have beaten us. This would not be a good week to have that trend reversed.

| A win’s a win I suppose. Started brightly before Laois settled into it. Played much better in the second half as well, less wides and defended better as a unit too.
Hard to know what to say about Eoin Bagnall, most impressive display from any of the forwards to date from him.
Great to have another 2 games to look forward to at least, 6 finals in 7 years as well is a good run to be on.

| Jesus we were lucky to win this one with loads of help from a ref who must have had money on us to win this . We were the better team early on but when they changed their kickouts we played second fiddle for long periods. They took over and the goal set us back a lot, if they had scored a second one when they walked thu us we could have died but fair play to the lads, and the ref , we battled on and won it.. Can't see us winning a leinster with that sort of play but we look forward to it anyway.. | |
