| Nothing official yet but there are strong rumours that a promising young fella called Johnny Doyle may be on the panel | |

| No he did play U21 the following year... Glad to see him back in the white.
It's actually a pretty strong team. And of course, the maestro on the bench...

| Podge starting Seamus and DJ on the bench (presume they are saving him for the under 20s). Who else from Monasterevin would have you expected to be on it? | |

All of them Podge on as no longer on the senior panel.. DJ won't be involved.. I'd have thought the beaten finalists from last year would have been better represented is all.

| Started really well, first 3 points looked like they could have been goals instead. Nash and Robinson looked really impressive, good running and kicked some nice scores throughout. Longford came into it around the 10 minute mark, goal and a few points in quick succession to level it before we finished the half strongly to pull away and lead by 4 at half time.
Good start to the 2nd half as well, JD kicked a beauty into the wind from out near the sideline and scored another 2 after that. Assuming Robinson knew what he was doing then his finish was exquisite, well worked move from the back in the lead up to the goal and it was game over from there.
Dara Malone and Jack Bambrick were impressive at the back. The Longford number 11 should be straight into their senior team, cleaned up everything in the middle.
Final against Meath as the curtain raiser to the senior final in Croke Park on the 23rd.

| With Nash & Robinson in line-up & Leinster final spot, juniors more exciting than seniors at present!

| Good performance from the juniors. Malone,Bambrick and Whelan played well in defence as did Murphy,Nash and Robinson in the forward line. JD rolled back the years with that super first point. At least we can look forward to a final in Croker on June 23rd | |

| Decent performance last night. Well done to all. Robinson and Nash were the standouts for me but most of the forwards did well. We seem to have an abundance of good forwards in that squad.
We look to be a little weaker at the other end though and it's a little worrying that we let Longford back into it so easily midway through the first half. I suppose losing the entire backline from last year doesn't help. Anyone know why the likes of Nathan Sherry (TMH), Willie Burke (TMH), Eoin McMonagle (Clogherinkoe), Tom Barron (St. Kevins), Cian Sharkey (Sallins) or Kevin Corrigan (Kill) are not available. Also, Mark Sherry (TMH) and Travers (Rathcoffey) would be good options to have for midfield.
Meath had a good team last year and should be a step up from what we faced last night. But best of luck to everyone involved and hopefully we can retain the title in a fortnight's time.
