| Might as well get things going on this. Tough game no doubt about it but certainly one we can win if we perform. Good performance against an admittedly poor Antrim side should have boosted the lads and a chance to take a scalp at home should hopefully be the incentive to produce a good display. Tyrone seem to have reverted a bit more to their defensive set up recently and we’ve traditionally struggled against that type of gameplan. The battle between O’Grady and McShane is likely to be pivotal but the way Mick has been playing you’d fancy him to manage him. Kildare by 3 | |

| Tyrone are vulnerable, definitely – style-wise they are caught between two stools and they would definitely hope to have had handier draw.
Think they'll go more defensive against us, as we can struggle sometimes to break that style down. But... we actually dealt with it quite well in league last year and should have won that game. Defence will need to hold their shape so we aren't over-run on the counter, and if we can do that, we definitely have the forwards to cause them problems.
A win is a huge incentive for this team – it would be second summer in a row we've taken out genuine AI contenders. Plus we get the listen to Joe Brolly try to explain how spineless Kildare felled the mighty Tyrone.
Lads have to be as fired up as Mayo game though – if we play with that ferocity we have a great chance. Let's do it.

| Genuinely excited about this game
Once the shackles of the grim leinster championship are off, it feels like our season begins.
A home game was always the preferred option but think this is the most difficult assignment we could have had. We always find it difficult against Tyrone.
Make no mistake, they will not look forward to this.
If we give them hell and go out with the same attitude as last year we will not be far away.
This is winnable. | |

| If we concede minimal turnovers and kick the ball dead each time we can win this game. Move the ball quick with lots of support and attack weak shoulders. With Ben, Adam, Neil and Jimmy we have the forwards to win this game. | |

| We're underdogs but definitely not without hope. They are certainly not the side they were ten years ago. | |

| Tough draw.. but shur that's not a bad thing.. no point prolonging it if we're not up to it. Fortress Newbridge will be rocking again.. kildare to win after penalty shoot out. | |

| Much like last year, this is the perfect outlet for all of the negativity surrounding the team this year. The players will be fired up and in terms of motivation we have more than Tyrone.
Tyrone looked confused v. Donegal. If it is a shoot-out we have a great chance If they revert to defensive counter-attacking football it will be a big test of whether we have become less naive.

| Main men for Tyrone are Harte, M Donnelly, McShane and McCann. Tie them down – easier said than done etc – and we're halfway there, as they simply don't have the quality of forwards the great Tyrone team had.
Also... They are the sneakiest team in the country and will be aware our disciplinary record isn't great. They will try every trick in book to get our boys black-carded or sent-off.
Need to hold our composure: bury a lad with a shoulder if you have to, but no stupid lashing out, late tackles, trips etc.

| Very good point on the disciplinary side of things haunted we have to use the brains. Controlled aggression required. Hopefully a decent referee appointed | |

| Tiernan McCann got a 2 game ban after the "incident" in the Donegal match so he won't be available for Saturday. | |

| Throw the kitchen sink at them. This is Kildare team find legs once they get into the qualifiers so I expect them to go all out. Hopefully good warm evening, big crowd who call for everything. We owe Tyrone a Championship beating, hopefully we provide that on Saturday. Get in early, wear white and give it our all.

Did Peter Harte pick up 2nd black of the season too? You're right - he did. You need 3 black cards in a season to get a ban so he'll be available.

| It's a given that Tyrone will set up more defensively and use the dark arts which they are so good at. When Armagh beat us 2 years ago we seemed to be totally shocked they were going to play this way and panicked. Can't happen on Saturday.
If we cut out the stupid errors, sloppy passing and be patient we can win this game.
