CON is back from his hols. Will we get a scoop on Kim tomorrow. Jayno. Might be an interview and could be fairly lengthy. Jayno. In relation to county board meetings for rectification of managers we don’t need to wait until September. CB meetings need to be held at least quarterly as per GAA RULE. (this is the current strategy to limit both information to clubs and the general public and more importantly to stop people asking questions). Up to 3 years ago the meetings were held on a monthly basis and can always be held monthly weekly fortnightly or daily if needs be. I am correct here snowwhite you would be familiar with the internal workings.

Alan Dunny now tipped to be next CB chairperson. Great idea to keep the continuity going. Will leave a vacancy as treasurer now this would be a great position for someone to get their teeth into.

Club Kildare golf classic yesterday. 55 teams mostly from clubs already paying the hawk field levy and now expected to pay to play golf.
120 teams in Moorefield golf classic last year and run over 2 days.
Mayo golf classic nearly 200 teams.
Kildare golf classic no signage at the venue. No bags of water and fruit snacks. . No county players to greet people. No county board officials to greet people. No food after the event but a voucher given to players to travel to a local restaurant 3 miles away to get food.
You couldn’t make this up this reflects the standards in Kildare GAA. Dublin expect high standards at the lowest level and the high standards filters throughout their organization.
We expect crap we get crap and the crap flows up hill to the big table in the crows nest in st conleths where crap decisions are made.
Hard to believe an Athy man of high standing would be associated with this shambles of a fundraiser.

The best fundraiser they’ve done was the fight night back in geezer’s time. The players were really involved in plugging it. People got behind the idea and a great night was had.
The golf day and the race night don’t appeal to larger numbers. If you’re not into golf or horses (most aren’t) what fundraiser is aimed at you?
I’d be more pessimistic at the idea of an insider from the current CB getting the big job. It’ll be more of the same. What’s needed is a radical rethink of how things are done. Don’t think we’ll get that with a company man getting the job.

What is Cormac Kirwan operations manager doing. Or is he even still there. He's actually paid full time.

Kildare GAA have a habit of appointing people with great fanfare only for them all to disappear without trace.
Either they are hiring the wrong people or they never get support or finance/material to do the job so they move on.

Not a great look by any means whatever way it is.

In all fairness most times I am in St.Conleths or Hawkfield, day or night, Cormac Kirwan is there.

Still no idea what his job description is, maybe a bit more clarity is required.

Club Kildare needs to function like the supporters club did in Michael Osbourne's time. They need to be hugely ambitious (remember it was unthinkable at that time that Mick O Dwyer could manage Kildare and player welfare was huge). Club Kildare funds need to go to player welfare and closing the gap on the professional outfit that Dublin are. The contrast in Dublin's fitness and everyone else is stark, look at the way Kildare, Meath and Cork battled for 50 minutes only for the professional team to pull away due to fitness and subs. Club Kildare should not be solely used as a financial vehicle to fund St Conleths. It can be done and needs to be done.

Don't know, as a member myself which I should say it seems to have always struggled since it moved under the control of the CB. But I pay the money because I want what's best for Kildare GAA. If my small contribution can help I don't mind paying.

But it does need to be promoted far better, be more inclusive of everyone, have match day events for everyone not just members, get it out there into people's head, push the idea of place, its our heritage, our people our History. You need to tap into that feeling of belonging. None of that is ever done.

There isn’t enough being done in general to draw supporters to games.
Our social media presence is zero. Our media partners are missing in action. And they only interviewed CON anyway.
The CB needs to take a new direction and make it fashionable to support Kildare these days.
That’s no easy task.

Might be considered as money well spent looking at Kerry today, Kildare looked sharp last year too. Also Dublin appear to have brought fitness to another level this year.

Club Kildare under the control of the county board is the county board. Is the club Kildare money ring fenced for the st conleths park development. Is it on deposit waiting to be included in the €3,750,000 shortfall if we get the €6,250,000 from the government major capital fund. How much has been spent to date on planning and consultancy without a sod turned or a block laid. It’s never divulged at the quarterly county board meetings. Where is your club county board membership money gone ....."......¿”””. One word sums up our county board and the lackies that hang around over there. INEPT.

Not celebrating but stating the fact that there will be no change and we are fucked for another 5 years. But the county treasurers job will be up for grabs and that could be interesting. Look what happened last year in Galway.

Have a look at this and just see how far behind the curve we are in relation to commercializing the Kildare GAA brand.

The Mayo Kerry game showed how important kickouts are at the top level in particular. From what ive seen, I think Aaron O'Neills are better than Mark Donellans. I would probably rate Mark as a better shotstopper but Aaron is definitely more comfortable being the 7th back when in possession. He is the prototype modern keeper in a position that has become arguably the most important on the field now.

Lads lads lads and ladies. Keep your hair on. Have a look at the attached graph. The reason we are so far behind a number of counties is we have a load of inexperienced dopes running the county board who can’t commercialise the Kildare GAA brand. We live in a wealthy county with some of the biggest multinational companies resident here and some of the most wealthy people in the world with interests here.
We can go on giving out about the GAA and Dublin but we need to look closer to home. When the dopes are in charge we are going no where. But they are delighted you are all distracted by the Dublin and GAA bashing as you wont look at them.

Now, without anyone claiming we should respect CON and give him the space to etc etc etc.....
He’s gone. Thank you for your service. Mayo was one of the greatest days I’ve had supporting Kildare.
Who’s next?
Glenn? Issues with the CB, hasn’t managed county football in a number of years. Has his opportunity passed?

Davy Burke? Young, ambitious, a proven winner underage, knows all the up and coming players.
Lack of experience with seniors. Perhaps one or two years too soon?

Malachy O’Rourke? Gritty, organised, strict, demands total buy in from players, proven senior county record.

Would he be bothered taking us? A long commute, are players willing to kill themselves for him? Realistically in Leinster he has no opportunity to win silverware.

Rochford? See above.

O’Connor? See above.

A.N Other from outside Kildare? See above.
