Few good individual moments today but overall abject mediocrity.
In addition to weaknesses I listed above we have another significant one: we really struggle with masses defences.
We’ve blitzed Fermanagh a couple of times but they really did a number on us last year & they well set up exactly the same way again.
Another item on a sizeable to-do list. O' Neill appears to be not committed,.bad decision by management to name team and he not there to start, not a great start to the new era.

He was at the AFL combine in UCD with a lot of other county players. It’s a once off trial and doesn’t mean he’s not committed to Kildare. Jack O’Connor said on KFM that Christy Byrne is goalkeeping coach and Brian Murphy will play a part in the backroom team this year.

| Arron O’Neill was there and on the bench.... togged out as well. So not too sure what people are saying about him not being committed. Though he must be thinking to himself, what the hell does he need to do, or Donnellan need to do for there to be a change in keeper. | |

| By main point is how/why was Aaron O'Neill named on Thursday night the start in goal.
No issue with the AFL trails whatsoever, the best of luck to him but this does not show great team management on their first team selection.
Did they even know that the trials were on, if so why just name him on the bench and then there's no issue, but the change was made for some reason less then 48 hours after naming the team.

| You called into question his commitment. He’s sat on the bench for the past two years watching mistake after mistake on the pitch. And stayed with the panel. I don’t think you or I can question the lad’s commitment.
As regards naming a team that doesn’t start.... Have you followed Kildare for the past 10 years? It’s a very regular occurrence.

| Aaron O'Neill at AFL combine in morning makes it back for match.
Dan Flynn on sauce at a wedding. Why was he named and why aren't you calling him out? |

| And I for one have no issue with Dan Flynn or anyone attending wedding this time of year. Just taking exception to the hypocrisy in only calling out Aaron O'Neill |

| So to get all this straight... Aaron O'Neill went to a trial in the morning and was on the bench togged out and ready for action that afternoon Dan Flynn was injured AFTER the team was named and himself and fellow club men were allowed a few pints at a wedding - like fully grown adults.
Let me be the first to say it, if be doesn't strictly adhere to starting the team he names in pre-season competitions it's JACK O'CONNOR OUT!!!

| Players being called out publicly for having a few drinks at a wedding at the start of December is just plain wrong. Some people need to get a grip, it is no wonder players choose to walk away. | |

| Ah here lads, i would question Dan Flynn overall commitment but not in this scenario no way only maybe if it was Philly McMahons wedding he was at!!!! Aaron O'Neill no issue either would have more of an issue with management not uncovering another few options apart from the two of them...…... | |

| Lads that play county can only drink twice in the year 1st when they are beaten in the All ireland series and the other time is when there club is knocked out of the championship other than that if you want to play county the other 363 days should be drink free and have no social life what so ever because us supporters demand it. If anyone questions players having a social life coming up to xmas they should take a hard look at them self's The stupid GAA having games before xmas is a complete and utter joke and should be banned right away and the O Byrne & other micky mouse cups scraped as well. | |
