| Good strong panel, just hope they do what most Kildare teams don't and realise their potential.
I'm glad Fogarty's in, still think he has plenty to offer Kildare.
Have people seen much of Treacy & Byrne? Don't know a whole lot about them but O'Connor seems to rate them.

| Is Wayne Fitzpatrick away/good enough etc? Heard a few say very good things? Think seven of under-20 team that won the All Ireland in there (or will be after under-20s done this time) which is good. Is Woodgate away, seem to remember being impressed with him in that run, or again is he at this level? | |

Woodgate rather play club than intercouty football

| Having had to endure some of the football that we produced in the o Byrne Cup, particularly the 1st half v Wicklow I can't say I'm overly optimistic about the year ahead however we live in hope. Tough opener next weekend | |

| Tommy Fitzpatrick was on 2013 minor team that trashed Dub side with Con O’Callaghan & Eoin Murchan en route to Leinster title.
At that age, I would have had him & Cian McMonagle on a par with Niall Kelly before & Jack Robinson later. Unfortunately they both kind of disappeared from county scene after that.
We possibly didn’t get the harvest from that crop we should have - Paschal Connell & Neil Flynn the only two in this squad.
Paul Mescal, oddly is bound for Hollywood (in LA not Wicklow), which probably wasn’t anticipated but I suppose Chris O’Dowd blazed the trail for ex county minor stars.

| Next weekend will be a nightmare - we’re down numbers in midfield & Fermanagh will deploy their patented 15-0 formation.
All this on a heavy winter pitch... not going to be one for the purists.
PS That’s a shame about Woodgate... Would also love to see Ben McCormack, Mark Dempsey & Brian McLoughlin in squad but we’ve done relatively well for opt-outs compared to other counties this season.

| Laois beat Armagh 0-16 to 0-10 this evening. Impressive result following a creditable draw away to Roscommon last week. | |

| Good win for Laois. I thought Armagh were favourites for promotion after last week.
It shows that there isn’t much between any of the teams in the division and that it’s hard to win away from home. Hope it’s a warning for us and we’re on our game tomorrow!

| Yes we would go top but lose and we're in the relegation zone, too early in the league to be getting carried away, win tomorrow and follow it up away to Armagh and then maybe we can start seeing some shape on what is a very well matched division. That said I think we can built on last week and get the points tomorrow | |

| Not getting involved in the slagging match on the Kildare v Clare thread!!! But here is one for the sensible posters on here..... are the GAA asking too much of referees with the new rules? are we going to see mistakes from them further down the road their job was hard enough and then they add the new rules in particular the forward mark and i think that in some cases towards the end of games they are forgetting i think against Fermanagh late on he forgot to blow a few times?? this is not a go at referees nor am i a ref but think the GAA are making their jobs harder and there are going to be consequences? | |

I think the linesmen should be more involved

| Linesmen do sometimes do a bit,
At a game yesterday (not Ennis) a player who the opposition has taken out a few times in previous games was again a target.. At one stage as one of our lads broke from a ruck, the marked lad tried to move to take a pass, was spotted by an opponent who dived in and held him by the ankle and the move petered out.
The ref missed the holding but at the next stoppage the linesman reported and the ref issued a Black.
It did not really help and our marked man was taken out twice later on, one a smack in the back and then a belt to the head and he was off concussed...…
Now the otrher linesman who was nearest the belt in the back sang dumb !!!!

| Cavan gone from bottom of the table to second in the table behind Armagh after their win against Laois today.
Going to be thin margins all the way in this division. Huge game against the Rossies next week.

| Ros is a bit of a make or break game for us. Win and promotion is a real possibility given remaining fixtures. Lose and we are up against it to avoid relegation/Tier 2. | |
