As we get to the business end of the league with a clash with neighbours Offaly coming up on Sunday 19th which an automatic league final spot up for grabs, What are peoples thoughts on the game and the continued progress on the inter county hurling scene ? Where you at the Kerry game in Newbridge at the weekend ? If so what were your thoughts on the Kildare performance, team line out etc. all comments welcome.

Savage encouraging this season. The one small criticism Id have is we are seriously over reliant on Naas players but that's the way it. I see no reason why we can't beat Offaly and even get promoted. I see young lads and clubs now with serious amounts togging out. No longer is it the poorer realtion. St. Cocas bet Naas in Minor Division 1 last weekend. Even in South Kildare you will have Two Mile House going senior in a few years. Cappagh already have. Hopefully Athy will follow suit and St.Brigids might not be far away with the great work going on at all of these clubs.

Obviously Naas have been the dominant force whether it be Adult or Juvenile over the last 5 years, hence the higher number of players on the Kildare panel. Naas players always seem to have a greater interest in being in and around the county panel. Maybe that is driven by success at club level. Up to now I would imagine it has been difficult to get lads interest in the county hurling set up given the relative lack of success on the national stage. Its not to long ago Joe Quaid had to appeal to players to put themselves forward for the panel. Hopefully now with the growth of the game in the county and the relative success that the county team have experience this will drive more and more players to strive to pull on the white jersey. It is great to see more and more Clubs fielding teams at underage level. Hopefully this will lead to more adult teams and bring some new competition for honours. Thankfully the tide seems to have turned and we will see more teams competing and not less. Hopefully they can give Offaly a good rattle and get to the league final. Getting up to Div 1b would be a great achievement and the next step in development for the game in the county.

Well done to the Kildare Senior Hurlers on reaching the Div2 A league final. Kildare will play the winners of Offaly v Kerry in the final for the right to play Div 1 hurling in 2024. Have Kildare Hurlers even played in a higher division than Kildare footballers ?

You would think the final will be a repeat of today's epic battle. The two goals really gave Offaly a lifeline. Expect it to be another close encounter in two weeks time.

Fair play, Heading down myself with the missus. Hopefully we get can a decent crowd from Kildare for the match. Not every day we get to a national final. The team need our support to get over the line. Shocking result for the minors against Wicklow today 9-23 to 0-5. We did not even have our a full squad out today. Used the opportunity to give some other lads a run today. This is a serious team given the results so far this year already in a number of practice games. Don't see why they cant make at least a Leinster semi final.
