| Just when you thought things in the GAA could not get much more farcical with poor umpires, poor ref's, Croke Park confiscating banners and errecting high fences.
Aidan O'Rourkes sideline ban with Kildare last week means he cannot line out for his own club in Armgah nor be on the line.
Kildare selector Aidan O'Rourke has criticised the CCCC after being issued with both a one-match and four-week ban for encroaching onto the pitch during the Lilywhites' All-Ireland qualifier and quarter-final wins over Monaghan and Meath respectively.
The former Armagh All-Ireland winner was forced to watch last Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Down from the stands, while he will also miss his club Dromintee's Armagh SFC clash with Ballymacnab tomorrow.
"Basically I have been affected more because I am in the usual situation of being a mentor with a county panel and a player and mentor with my club," he said in the Irish News.
"The CCCC admitted that my situation wasn't envisioned when the rules were written so there is an issue there.
"If a county player is suspended for striking, it doesn't carry to club football, but my suspension does carry over and it is something they will have to have a look at."
He added: "Kildare were the obvious target of the CCCC's wrath, but it's disappointing that it has gone beyond that." |

| That is disgraceful!!!
As geezer said in his interview it's crazy that they can tell Aidan exactly how many times he crossed the sideline but they can't tell when a point goes over the bar or a ball is a square ball.

| It's the Gaa and their mad rules, what do you expect. Pity the bloke who was counting the amount of times he came on couldn't spot that Coulter was making a cup of tea in the square before the ball came in.
Crazy times.

| Does anything surprise you with this amateurish organisation.......? oh I forgot it is an amateur sport afterall so they can always use that as an excuse for their ineptness.
Virtually every new rule they've brought in over the last two decades or so has been either totally ridiculous or utterly pointless and often these rules are not actually rules because they move the goalposts almost at will when it suits them.

| Croke Park and its "rules" are becoming more ridiculous by the day. I am beginning to lose faith in this organisation. What can be done before the lutanics fully take over | |

What can be done before the lutanics fully take over at least you said fully take over croker, then again are they really lunatics or just simply stooges? the biggest problem the gaa face is that every rule change has to run the gauntlet of thousands of dinosaurs that plague the gaa, unless this situation changes they will forever be a laughing stock, the people at the top table whether a stooge or not? their hands are virtually tied behind their backs and anyone with even a smidgen of an intelligent idea is usually shot down in flames by said dinosaurs. tradition, tradition damn tradition! its this tradition that has the gaa still rooted in the dark ages.

| There is to much democracy in the GAA, you can't change anything without going to congress and then even at that it's only every two/three years not certain which that rules can be changed.
There is no chance of changing things quickly when change is obviously needed.
But then on the other hand, do you want to give extra power to the lot that are in charge now. Maybe a good clear out is needed and a younger forward thinking set of officials should be brought in.

| Yeah couldn't believe that one when I heard it. A disgrace and yet another example of poor and badly thought out rules and regulations.
They should have a fast track method of changing this type of injustice when it's their own stupidity that caused it.

| i'd much prefer jme a situation where people are elected to the top table and are then given a free rein to do as they see fit for a set period of time, if people think they're not fit for the job they can always vote them out when their tenure is up, just like any democratic goverment, the current situ is not democracy in the broader sense, as it is as i've said before everybody wants to pass the buck instead of the buck stopping here and make your decision for better or worse, and that will eliminate the influence of the dinosaurs who will circle the wagons at every opportunity if their precious tradition comes under threat. | |
