Not too familiar with the county board politics myself but Jaysus it sounds like Game Of Thrones or something!

For what's it worth I think the Nationalist is far superior, the analysis and quality of writing is much better.

The sub-editing in the Leader is atrocious, it's full of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. No idea how they get away with it.

KickingKing I know why they voted in a certain way, personal agenda. They should be asked to explain why they let personal vendettas override the views of the committee they should have honorably agreed with. Since they went against those wishes when are they going to resign their position.
You got to love it. Everyone who voted for McGeeney did so with a pure and tender heart. Anyone who didn't was only getting personal and just had it out for him.

Perhaps they just weighed up what they saw as the pros and cons and felt that the cons outweighed the pros and voted accordingly?

Hold your horses there, we are discussing the four committee members who voted no, not the clubs so wind your neck back in.
It's simple, in any business or group the committees direction is to be followed by the members of that committee. If you don't like the direction it is going you resign. You do not sit in a committee knowing you are going to vote against it.
People have used the dail as a guide to how the democracy in the gaa works. Well if you don't follow the party whip you are out. The same goes for this committee. You don't follow the majority view you are out. Yet not one of those who voted no has been man enough to resign.
They want to have their cake and eat it. Vote against the committee but stay on that committee. No credibility.

Have to agree with you on that one Baba......if you dont support your committees vote/decision while your on that same committee, well then it should be curtains for that person or persons......they should resign or be voted out at next CB meeting or convention. A no confidence vote in these committee members should be put to the floor and these same people gone for not supporting the committees majority decision.....

I knew we'd agree on something overthebar.
It's common sense. The majority view of the committee should be upheld. Don't agree with the committee don't sit on that committee.

I agree with all that and I agree they should resign. In any event I doubt they'll be re-elected. What I disagreed with was your allegation that the only reason they voted against McGeeney was due to personal vendettas.

We're still not friends Baba.........lol!
If your on a committee and you dont agree with majority after a vote, you must stand by the decision made for the common good and show strength of character and back the committee to the hilt....

A monumental fuck up to have it there in the published editions. No wonder their circulation is bollixed.

The rest of their sports coverage was all over the shop and no structure to it and bits missing. Very amateurish.
