| I hear alot about the so called Dublin bowsies on the Hill from our fine dignified support base here , so i was wondering what was your thoughts on the melee involving the drunken / strung out supporters of Meath and Kildare about 50 v 50 group at the top of the hill to the right of the goal posts. I must say it was bad viewing for alot of kids whom were around from all 4 counties witness this at close quaters , as i am sure there were those in the stand who had full view of it , But lets call a spade a spade , i have noticed from the last few years that this underhanded niggling between these two counties is more prodomaintly from the meath support , i witnessed this last year at the 1/4 final 2010 on the Hill and Sunday when it came to a head , and at a flash point , blew off with total disregard for the safety of those around them , mainly kids, it was bad , what i witnessed 50 yards away was unbridled viciousness, there was no quater drawn or given , full on kicks and punching (Lillies won this one too) Only for the quick thinking of the stewards and garda's it would have essculated , they did the right thing , escorted them all off the hill , it was i admit a manageable group of 100 or so to deal with , It came to the stage were i thought some dub fans were going to give a dig out excuse the pun with the kildare lads , as this meath bunch were totally looking for it if this had happened no doubt the " media" would selectively picked up on it , and it would be branded "dublin thug element spoil a day of clean sport" Now dont get me wrong , I am fully well aware of my own bunch of tossers who bring shame to our support on the Hill for many years i must admit But as we have people here whom throw big metophoric stones , how did it effect your glasshouse or shall there be a blinkered view on this subject I am simply stating for those contributors , we all have this scumbag element in every county , will these contributors be as stinging with there views and opinions about this incident as they are about the same dublin element they so elequantly speak of here Now i know there are real Gaels here who i enjoy a bit of banter with , who will no doubt condem any type of tugger which hurts our game we love so well | |

| Well Vodafone, unfortunately every county has a few tosser's. Some counties have more than others!!!!
Yeah I heard it was a little nasty but as you said 100 odd fools out of 42,000. We've been blessed in the GAA that this is a rare occurrence. But yes the few pissheads that insist on getting tanked up to go to Croker to roar abuse at all around them are stupid. Keep it to the 30 on the pitch and not the wannabe's on the Hill.

I must say it was bad viewing for alot of kids whom were around from all 4 counties witness this at close quaters , as i am sure there were those in the stand who had full view of it ,
But lets call a spade a spade , i have noticed from the last few years that this underhanded niggling between these two counties is more prodomaintly from the meath support , i witnessed this last year at the 1/4 final 2010 on the Hill and Sunday when it came to a head , and at a flash point , blew off with total disregard for the safety of those around them , mainly kids, it was bad , what i witnessed 50 yards away was unbridled viciousness, there was no quater drawn or given , full on kicks and punching (Lillies won this one too)

Now dont get me wrong , I am fully well aware of my own bunch of tossers who bring shame to our support on the Hill for many years i must admit
But as we have people here whom throw big metophoric stones , how did it effect your glasshouse or shall there be a blinkered view on this subject
I am simply stating for those contributors , we all have this scumbag element in every county , will these contributors be as stinging with there views and opinions about this incident as they are about the same dublin element they so elequantly speak of here
Now i know there are real Gaels here who i enjoy a bit of banter with , who will no doubt condem any type of tugger which hurts our game we love so well I have been to plenty of Kildare and Dublin games (not playing each other) and have only witnessed trouble at both when they play a certain county. This certain county is the constant variable. This certain county have also been known to throw stones at the Dublin team bus and Cavan supporters returning from matches.

| Ah here.. I was the Hill for the Meath game last year and I was stuck with the biggest shower of tossers ever from Kildare.. They were intent on roaring as much abuse at the Meath fans as possible and had little interest in the game. They are in every county lads. | |

So the fact they were escorted off the terrace , deems it wasnt dangerous and nothing major happened at all. So your saying the garda's and stewards were heavy handed, let me flip it , if it was dublin support then is it dangerous Jesus Weep , that white road paint goes on pretty thick and i think it whats to be expect from the very very few here , as i have alluded to in my first post we have people here whom throw big metophoric stones , how did it effect your glasshouse or shall there be a blinkered view on this subject

And as you correctly said the Gards stopped it so it was only a minor incident.

And as you correctly said the Gards stopped it so it was only a minor incident. No A minor incident is when 1/2 are pulled from a crowd , i dont see how there must be fatalaties or a full scale riot to warrent it be deemed serious , any physical action the endangers people in the immediate area is serious , like i said another 30 secs , someone outside the war factions gets a clip , then it can spiral out of control , does the 1995 landowne rd soccer match come to mind , that started by lump of seating throw , within 1 min it went balistic ,there were kids & old men present in that area up at the back of the terrace , they even comment afterwards they got worried , after that group of scum were removed the amount of dutch gold , and scrump jack left , tells a story , one security arrangement for fans of the first match another for the second match , now i admit i have been on the hill when kildare supporters were present and there is Never Trouble , but the last time meath supporters were on the hill with dublin , there was trouble , now there was no boxing match , but quick thinking worked that day ,they were swiftly removed , and this prevented as you put it fatalaties / riot , but it was serious enough to act promptly , i suspect from the same ArseH...s that were there sunday.

| I don't doubt your point that it happened or that it was unsavoury but to say it could have escalated into something other than a few toerags having a go at one another is misleading. As was said earlier every county has its muppets who tag along to the bigger games and kildare are no different. No place for this carry on whatsoever | |

| Was about a dozen people involved in this max, there seemed to be more lads trying to break it up than there was lads trying to throw punches. The stewards and Gardai didn't get involved straight away either, even though they escorted about six or seven lads out soon afterwards.
It started off with a bit of chanting between two groups of fans, got a bit nasty and personal - some of them seemed to know each other (could be way off with that though). The chanting and slagging started early on but escalated after half time, and the majority of the Meath fans involved were gone with 10 minutes left in the match.
Have to say it's the first time I've seen violence between Meath fans and our own on the Hill, last year there was plenty of slagging and that but nothing to the point of anybody throwing a punch or starting a row. The only fights I've seen involving Kildare fans before this happened on a train home after the Leinster semi in '03. Even then it was just drunk kids trying to act the hard man.
Every county has them, and they're in the tiny minority, hopefully these few idiots will have learnt their lesson for the next day.

But should the point be that "Everyone" if they choose should have the right to go on the hill on match days without be subject to serious verbal/physical intimadation/assault , no matter were they are from , i hear it enough times the hill doesnt belong to any particular group , like in the stands , in answer to your post directly , i would stay the gaa could easily segregate supporters if this was a issue , the facilities are in place on the hill if you have been on the hill and noticed
