Leinster Under 21 Football Championship 2012

Leinster U21FC 2012 venues and dates confirmed

The Leinster U21FC will start on Wednesday 22 February with four games under lights.

As in 2011, all games will be played midweek under lights with champions Wexford putting their title on the lien against Dublin on the opening night.

First round - Wednesday 22 February 2012
Wexford v Dublin, Belfield, Enniscorthy
Wicklow v Carlow, Baltinglass
Kilkenny v Louth, Ballyragget
Offaly v Meath, Gracefield

Quarter-finals - Wednesday 7 March 2012
Wexford or Dublin v Laois, Enniscorthy/Parnell Park
Wicklow or Carlow v Westmeath, Baltinglass/Carlow I.T.
Kilkenny or Louth v Longford, Ballyragget/Haggardstown
Offaly or Meath v Kildare, Gracefield/Navan

Semi-finals - Wednesday 21 March 2012
Wexford or Dublin or Laois v Wicklow or Carlow or Westmeath, Neutral venue
Kilkenny or Louth or Longford v Offaly or Meath or Kildare, Neutral venue

Final - Wednesday 4 April 2012

In the event of replays (or possible neutral venues for Semi Finals / Final) the following other venues have been nominated: Laois (Portlaoise), Westmeath (Athlone), Kildare (Hawkfield), Longford (Killoe).

A Leinster final is a real possibility here but I have serious reservations about the Manager.. I hope he proves me wrong. Also many of these players have big reputations in the county but have yet to prove it outside. This team will be watched with great interest.

This squad is good enough to win leinster. If the management team don't get the right team out this year it will be a disgrace. An absolute disgrace.

You'd have to include Geezer himself in any criticism because he's clearly had an influence in picking the players for that team to come through to the seniors. If he didn't then a decent manager like Cribbin, Dowling would have the reigns by now.

After hearing so much promise about last years team to actually see them so rudderless against Wexford was all the more disappointing. No excuses if there's a similar collapse in the next campaign.
