| Not bad draws for Kildare in the Under 21 and minor championship next year. On paper, at least.
U21 Football Championship Round 1 1. Wicklow v Carlow 2. Wexford v Longford 3. Louth v Laois Quarter finals 4. Wexford/Longford v Westmeath 5. Kildare v Offaly 6. Louth/Laois v Wicklow/Carlow 7. Meath v Dublin Semi Finals Match 4 v Match 5 Match 6 v Match 7
Minor Football Championship Kilkenny v Wexford Dublin v Offaly Kildare v Wicklow Meath v Laois Carlow v Louth Westmeath v Longford

| Not bad at all. U21s versus offaly seems to be an annual event now. | |

| I know that the u/21 championships start around February or thereabouts but why oh why do they need to make the senior and minor draws so early. This year we spent approx. 36 weeks waiting to play Laois after the draw was made, it really does 'drag out ' things. Why can't they do the draw around April and let the excitement begin then. The anticipation for the draws for the qualifiers does be great as they as made and the game is on within 2 weeks. | |

| Fully agree about the senior draws. I suppose the only thing is people like to book summer holidays in winter ( I know I do) and try to plan them around championship dates. But there's a lot to be said for making the draw around March/April. It's actually quite demoralising to find out in October your on Dublin's side of the draw and won't get beyond the semi final. Unless Cian can work miracles of course! | |

No doubts in Portlaoise again. I heard the u21 Club Championship is a straight knockout, with no back door or Shield.. This is really becomming such a waste of Time, and nobody really seems to care anymore about it.. which is an awful pity, as its such an exellent and used to be a very important Grade of Football.. Why not replace the Aldridge Cup etc with the u21 alternative ?.

| It was in Portlaoise because Offaly don't have a home venue that meets health & safety requirements. It will be in Athy and I'd expect them to win as most of Offaly's better players from last year are overage and we should be a bit better than last year. Minors would have been better off with a tougher draw. Will learn nothing beating Wicklow easily.

I heard Athy was no longer deemed suitable for InterCounty Matches ?.

| We couldn't really have got a better draw, with Dublin, Meath and Laois on the opposite side. All Dvision 3 and 4 teams in our half. The last time we got a draw that looked this good was in 2010, when Louth beat us in our first match! | |

| A really great draw for Kildare. It adds a bit of pressure though as now Leinster final is a must for the new manager. I'm confident he and the players can do it. | |

| Could not have got a better draw if you picked it out yourself. It at least gives something to look forward to as opposed to playing Dublin first up. Should give the players and management a big boost to try and make a Leinster final.
On the downside every other team in our half of the draw is thinking the exact same so we must avoid complacency at all costs. The best prep for this is to get out of Div 3.

| Even with no improvement from this year I'd expect us to reach a Leinster Final with that draw. Dress it up any way you want but that is the reality | |

| As poor as we have been in recent seasons, that draw represents a massive opportunity to reach a Leinster final. | |

Great opportunity for cian and Co to hopefully gain promotion and make a leinster final in 2016.

| Promotion and a Leinster final could be regarded as progress. However avoiding another drubbing from Dublin would be the best sign of us moving forward. Looking forward to the year ahead already. | |

| Jesus H. I hope and expect Cian's only focus is on the league and when the league is finished I expect it to be all about Wexford. Talk of a 1st Leinster final appearance in 7 years is crazy.
Let us focus first on ensuring we get a defensive system in place that limits the number of goal opportunities we give up.

| I'd agree but that draw represents a huge opportunity that we should be making the most of. When things go your way sometimes you just have to grab the chance with both hands. | |

| Financial warning for counties if Dubs taken out of Croker 21 October 2015:
This really drives me around the bend: On Monday we had whispers that Dublin might play some championships games outside of Croke Park and Dublin indicate that is not a problem.
Low and behold the C.E.O. of Leinster G.A.A is now saying that if this happens counties will receive smaller grants.
You just can't win when you take of the mighty Dublin GAA machine can you.

| Hate veiled threats like this especially when a lot of counties, no more so than our own are struggling financially, if that is the case, counties have to consider what is more important, finances are trying to provide a more meaningful competition. | |

| Look at the boost other towns economy will get for the day when they hold a leinster champ match. I think Croke Park should only be used for Leinster Finals or earlier games between Dublin and Meath or Dublin and Kildare.

To be fair, and I say this as someone who is 100% behind bringing the Dubs out of Croker for fairness, I don't think this is a veiled threat. I think it's based on the economic results of moving them out of Dublin to provincial grounds. Leinster Council revenue will be reduced so there will be less in the pot to go back out. So I suppose they're saying, think of the consequences. They have always said the reason for keeping them in Croke Park is financial. Now I'd be saying, no matter, the teams have to have equal opportunities but this is a very obvious consequence of that. And if they get beaten before the final, that will affect the coffers more!! But as umpire said, there would be benefits to the local economy for the day. But the only concern as a sporting organisation should be parity of opportunity.
