| Well lads, with it being senior final week the u21 champ has come in under the radar. As far as I know a few games start this weekend. We have a solid team this year we are usually there or there abouts in this age group, although im not sure yet whether Brophy is available for us. We play Athy on the 24th and Id fear athy this year, have some excellent players at this age group Kelly Hyland Connell. Sash will also have a very strong team but the county final could hamper either sides chances as I doubt the senior lads on each team will be training with their 21s teams. I also think Maynooth could be very good this year, as far as I know its a similar team to the one that got beaten in a semi final AET last year, Any team with Neil Flynn in it has a real chance, was the standout player for this years 21s. Round towers are the team that won the minor at this age group so one would think they'd be strong, they beat us after two replays and extra times and had a number of talented players. Surprised there are only 10 teams in div 1, whether that's the amount that applied for div 1 or the number the county board wanted i don't know. Surprised to see Castledermot and Leixlip in div 2. Castledermot have got to two final in the last couple of years and i have been told by a colleague in work Leixlip have the exact same team as last year and they were quite strong last year hammering towers and narrowly losing to maynooth. Kilcock also dropped to div 2 but raheens went up from 2 to 1. TMH should be a strong shout along with the 3 teams already mentioned as well as Larries. | |

| Interesting that we have 4 sections this year. There have been a lot of mis matches and walkovers in the last few years. I think it says a lot for the health of club football to get so many entries I was chatting win a Laois club man who couldn't believe that kind of entry. This is the age where the fall off is highest and hopefully all clubs will fulfill fixtures. Fair play to Celbridge entering two teams, is that a first? | |

| Horseshit. Sure Athy won u21 the same year they won senior. Sash's team is of simillar profile to that! |

Bit harsh 'umpireonditch' - I was just thinking if the county final winners get a good run in Leinster it has the potential to weaken their u/21 team, either by fatigue, injury or maybe not being made available if games clash. I didn't say that the senior county winners wouldn't win the u/21 title also.

| I think the last few years where possible the county board have avoided a clash between Leinster club and u/21 championship games, the main issue for the two clubs will be the lack of training they can get in as most will be involved in senior preparations. | |

| The A and B are very hard to call imo, and a lot of Clubs in both Grades will fancy there chances.. If their interested or bothered.. My own Club will struggle as with every other Year to field 15. | |

Two Mile House should be favourites for the B, they got to a minor A final with this team. Any other teams with pedigree in the B?

Tmh will go well. But I'd go with kilcock. Its this year's team unless you get four years of club under 21 after minor which seems a bit excessive to me. Next year they can play under 21 Kildare but would have thought they would be overage for club by the time October springs around.

| Missing a couple but on paper should have been good enough to win. I think some may have over exerted themselves with the celebrations during the week!! | |

| We let a lead go against athy, they probably deserved the win in the end. Id see athy going on to win it but stranger things have happened, Maynooth the next strongest, North teams doing well, still cant see why Leixlip are in the B they have won both games handy enough against two of the strongest teams in the B and from talking to a lad from from their club they have beat 2 teams that are in A semis, which two I dont know. The 21s are back trialling and training as far as I am aware. Hard luck to sash on weekend | |

| I believe Leixlip being in the B was a Co Board decision based on that teams performances at minor and u16 level previously. I believe both players and management were unhappy with this decision but Co Board decision was final. | |

| Loads of Pints...Correct, Leixlip in B was a county board decision and Questioned by Leixlip. in B on Merit however as past results dedicated this, Celbridgelad...contesting teams a division above you is not an absolute measure, a higher ranked team will experiment. I know Leixlips u21s are working hard but despite size of town have a small pool which is a discussion for another day | |
