| Games coming thick and fast this season...
Forwards will get more room in this game but I am concerned about our defence. Even without Gary Brennan and Jamie Malone, Clare have some pacy, tricky attackers and always cause us problems when they run at us. If they bang in a couple of goals we could be in trouble.
A strong defensive performance – preferably with another clean sheet – would be a real sign of progress for me. Allowing for injuries etc, team I'd go for is something like...
Donnellan
O'Grady P Kelly Doyle
S Ryan Kavanagh K Flynn
Feely Moolick
N Flynn P Cribbin Brophy
Robinson D Flynn J Hyland

| We're you at first game? Thought LiamHealy was excellent and better then O'Grady and Kelly so surprised you'd release him out of full back line |

| Yes was at first game. Not fully convinced by Healy but wouldn't object to him getting another start. Doyle and K Flynn did make big impact when introduced, albeit further up the field. | |

| Anybody know if David Hyland or Adam Tyrell are available this weekend?
I'd doubt if Feely can play 70 minutes and might be better coming off the bench.

| Important game. Win and the Armagh game is a free hit with the winner nearly guaranteed promotion.
Clare have given us loads of trouble over the last few years but if I recall only beat us in the league final. Don't think they are at the level they were and as has been said are missing two of their most important players.
Team wise don't thibk it will change much bar maybe Kevin Flynn and possibly Doyle coming in. But I won't be surprised if it's the same 15 with a lot of impact on the bench.
Hopefully Kildare by 4 | |

| Could make a case for starting the same 15 again, Niall Kelly the most under pressure. Subs made a difference when they came on and hopefully will again. A win is vital and with the likes of Feely and Cribben getting fitter we could be in good shape heading to Armagh. | |

| Healy got caught a couple of times wrong sude against Fermanagh but needs games as is a better player thsn O'Grady for example who looks like hes carrying a bomb the few times hes in possession. Another one where its all about getting the 2 points. | |

Have you actually watched a Kildare game in last couple of years? O’Grady has undoubtedly been one of our best performers and rarely gives the ball away. Baffling comment on him

| Just dont see it myself. Predictable corner backs do ok on predictable corner forwards. Bit of surgery needed in that fullbackline. Papering over the cracks otherwise getting over average teams, then getting roasted when it counts. | |

| Harsh on O'Grady who is a good defender and always gives his all. He usually ends up marking the opposition's best forward with little protection. Let's be honest, a lot of our players struggle against the likes of Dublin and Tyrone.
I don't think we have many options at full-back. Maybe Eoin Doyle could play there but would he do any better against the likes of Cathal McShane or Con O'Callaghan? Mark Barrett might be an option in the future but he hasn't featured this year yet. Jack O'Connor can only work with the players he has, he can't go out and buy new ones.

| I always feel our defence is far too gentlemanly. Liam Hayes always maintains you need a couple of out-and-out psychopaths in the backs and he's right.
We don't have any hard bastards who'd split a forward in half given the opportunity – there are no Lee Keegans or Colm Boyles.
We need a major improvement in that regard. A good index is if you're playing Dublin or Kerry and their pundits and fans start whinging about your underhand tactics during the week.

| Hes a rash KC, haha. Played well last week to be fair. Manmarking wouldn't be his thing. Think hes good option off bench with his pace. | |

| Hyland back to full back, O Grady in the corner and Kelly the other. It was our weakest line last weekend | |

If you were travelling 30 years ago maybe ?! You will do it in 1.45 (from Newbridge) - Less or more depending on where you are. With the road network being so bloody good these days, there arent many away trips where you can justify an overnighter to the missus

| Highball fully agree, heading down Sunday morning also.
Looks like Hyland is ruled out for Sunday and with the way Feely was left till the last 15 minutes last week I be shocked if he started this week. Possibility maybe of K.Flynn going midfield or half forwards with Paul going mid field. Dont think Jack will make to many changes to what started last week.

where will the headquarters be on Saturday night Yeah T.G. 4 of us heading down Saturday for the w-end. Staying in the Woodstock. There's always 1 away trip every season that shouts "craic"...and this is the one this time ! If anyone here knows a particularly good pub in Ennis maybe they would stick it on here. Would be partial to a few creamy dreamies Saturday night !!!
