| Thought I'd better start a thread for this. Hope it's a long one!
The Under-20's have their Leinster quarter-final against Offaly in Newbridge this Saturday at 2. The semi-final against Laois or Westmeath is on the week after so it looks like they are trying to run off the competition very quickly this year.
The team did well in the John Kerins Cup beating Laois, drawing with Dublin (coming from 4 points down late on) and beating Meath (coming from 3 down to win by 3) so it's seems they have a bit of grit about them. They lost the final to Cork who are favourites for the All-Ireland. Shane O'Sullivan, Darragh Kirwan and DJ Earley are on the senior panel, John Lawlor and Darren McDermott have shown up well in the games so far and we've a few Naas lads who've been successful at schools level. So the talent is there...
Best of luck to all involved.

| Some good results for this group already this year in the development tournament with over 30 players used. Solid performances against both Dublin and Meath and responded well to going behind against the Dubs and conceding 2 goals in a matter of minutes against Meath.
No idea how many Cork have leftover from last year’s All Ireland winning team but they’ve been strong at this level for a number of years now so it was always going to be tough trying to get a win against them a few weeks ago.
Strong midfield partnership in McDermott and O’Connor, both have played all 4 games already this season (albeit O’Connor started 2 of those at fullback) so they will hopefully form a good platform to work off around the middle tomorrow.
Shane O’Sullivan has been on fire up front, averaging just over 8 points per game and Darragh Kirwan has 1-11 to his name in 3 games so they’ll more than likely be our main scoring threats again.
Conneely and Browne were both very impressive for the Minor’s last year so be interesting to see how they’ll find the step up in grade.
A win tomorrow would see us through to a semi final against either Laois or Westmeath, with Dublin and Meath both on the opposite side the draw has been favourable to us and hopefully not a year too soon for some of last year’s minor side.

| Another good crop... Would be great if we could land another underage title this year.
We could well be looking to rebuild the senior team shortly, so let's keep the conveyor belt going.
Best of luck tomorrow lads, won't be able to make it unfortunately, but will be monitoring with keen interest.

| Phew. Scraped a win by one point, 1-7 to 0-9. Conditions were as bad as I’ve seen in Newbridge.
Offaly adapted to the conditions much better in the first half. Great goal by Shane O’Sullivan got us back into it and the subs especially Alex Beirne and Paddy McDermott made a big difference.
The lads showed great spirit to dig out the win in the end. Fair play to them.

| Laois beat Westmeath on penalties after drawing 13 apiece after extra time tonight.
Semi final fixed for Friday night at 19:30 in Portlaoise, you'd hope the 2 days extra rest will be a bit of an advantage in this one.

| Laois have also named the same 15 that started against Westmeath on Monday night, hard to imagine no changes to that by throw in tonight though.
Weather should be wet and windy, this side have ground out results in tough conditions already this year and have come out on the right side in some tight games so conditions shouldn’t be anything too new to them.
Definitely a good chance of making a Leinster final here anyways.

| Incredibly disappointing, Laois better at everything tonight. Hopefully I'll have dried off and warmed up in time for Sunday, that's about the only positive to take from tonight. | |

| Reap what you sow. Who ever decided not to sack Campbell after last year's inept showing in u20 championship has a lot to answer for. |

| Absolutely useless. Yet again another chapter in the mediocrity of Kildare GAA. Made Laois look like world beaters. | |

| I agree Gay Campbell isn't a good enough manager and maybe Cian o Neill but it's time that people start looking at the players and blaming them at the end of the day they're the lads who cross the white line not the management team | |

| If we can get 3 or 4 players out of that lot, that will be ok, To be fair to the team, the are better then the result tonight. The are young Lads, 2 many changes all over the field,it not the end of the world.I would say if we played them next week better weather, we would win. That's the way if goes. | |

| Absolutely brain dead football with no idea how to play the conditions. So much possession and just 4 points to show for it. Wouldn't kick for points with the wind in the first half and then ballooned a few in front of the posts into the wind near the end. Laois looked the better team who could do the basics better. No idea what type of training these guys have been doing in recent years but it can't have involved much skill work based on what I saw tonight. The contrast with Davy Burke's side of 2 years ago was incredible.

| Someone on here insisted to me this team would prove better than the 2018 side (!).
Someone else, straightfaced, was equally insistent that Shane O’Sullivan was better than Brian McLoughlin.
McLoughlin beat Laois on his own - in 15 MINUTES - in 2018. O’Sullivan did nothing & got himself a red card.
Anyway, there was talent in this bunch but the difference between them & a Burke team is night & day.
Another handy Leinster title for the Dubs. We’re the only county able to put it up to them in Leinster & really kills me that they’ll get another easy passage again this year.
Golden boy Archer walking into another semi-final without us really finding out if he has the stomach for it. This has been a dire season so far - can only pray it doesn’t get worse Sunday.
