What a shit topic to even have to discuss.
Group 1; Kildare Leitrim Longford Waterford
Hopefully get a night out in Carrick or Waterford at least with that draw.
To think we'd be doing well to even finish 2nd out of those 4.

When are the fixtures made?
So am I right in saying it's: Longford (H) - Carlow Waterford (A) - Dungarvan Leitrim (N) - TBC
Maybe I am reading the seedings wrong.
We are where we are in fairness, so let's at least try to get some wins before we fall any further.

This is a direct quote from the Manager
"we performed out there, we created more scoring chances than what we have done all year; our conversion rate which has been an issue for us all year manifested itself again today; I think in the second half we won fifty per cent of their (Louth's) kick-outs which in the modern game isn't a stat you would normally see, so there was a lot of good stuff done out there but ultimately the poor out-weighed the good, not the performance I was expecting, I thought the way we had gone about the last two weeks they were primed for a good showing but we didn't get it.”

Absolutely fucking deluded. Is it any wonder we are in the position we are in. So far out of his depth.
I leave it at that, I don't want to derail the thread discussing how terrible a management set up this has been and how detrimental to Kildare GAA it's been also. Johnny, Rainbow, Ryan, Roli, Nally, Lacey - Frauds.

Are Glen and his management team anymore deluded than supporters on here who think we are better than we are? Manager after manager are after failing when it comes to Kildare senior football. Three provincial titles in nearly 70 years. Nearly 100 years since our last AI win.
The majority of the team are completely brainless. Lads calling for Eoin Doyle to come in as player/manager. Anyone see his efforts at tackling last few games? Two butchered goal chances against Louth that a junior team would have scored.
And ye have the audacity to call out Glen et al. Give yer heads a good wobble.

Any chance we could keep this thread to the topic. Lots of room on Leinster Champioship thread to bemoan what was....this thread is for what's coming down the track.

Just going to leave this here as it is written by an ex Mayo player not Kildare fan!

Ah lads, Dean Rock, Lee Keegan, Colm Parkinson, Pat Spillane, Sean Cavanagh, Whelan, Aaron Keirnan etc haven’t a clue, neither do 90% of our fans. Management aren’t an issue….

Sleep tight I’d suggest you do the same as your name alludes to and sleep tight on that last sentence from your post. Christ the only “audacity” around I see is Glen and co continuing on. Anyway another thread for that discussion.

HOW?! HOW was it not the performance he was expecting?!
It's exactly what I was expecting and we have all seen over the past 2 years.

I think if the lads knuckle down and stop doing silly things like missing handy score and failing to excute the basic skills of the game we should be within a few points of longford going into the last five minutes. All to play for then.

So what does that make the management team that keep picking them?

Kildare's 2024 is over, nobody in Kildare gives an f**k about the Tailteann cup except to win passage into the All Ireland series 2025. In that case, the season is over, it's time for the management and panel to move on. Glenn and co done their best but it wasn't to be, they got a fair crack and can't have any complaints, they will always be playing legends and we shouldn't go too hard on them or any individuals. It's 2 days after the Louth debacle and still not a whisper about interim manager or anything else, all hope is gone

They used to joke out West that the Galway footballers would be out in time for The Galway Races. Never thought we'd be out in time for Punchestown .

Yep its always the managers fault. Sure Jack O Connor was a disgrace in the Leinster final v Dublin. Holding Kildare back like he did. And Cian O'Neill hadn't a clue.
Two simple execution of 5 yard handpasses last week and the game was won. Junior stuff. Sure Glen should be doing 5 yard hsndpassing drills in training. And I'm sure he coached three defenders to surround one attacker and to leave another inside.
Deluded.

We were better under Jack and Cian than we are now.
Are the likes of Lee Keegan, Dean Rock, Aaron Kieran all wrong saying we have no structure and we don’t look like a team. Our fitness has been questioned too by many. Surely that is on management.
