The Leinster Club Championship they will know that Kevin O'Neill has done nothing to suggest he should be included in the panel for 2011. Obviously this could change in the current year but in the last game I seen him play Zach Tuohy took him to the cleaners for Portlaoise. dead right

| Good to hear that the operation would appear to have been a sucess. It will be very difficult for mikey to get back to former fitnesss. But hopefully he will | |

| Mcgeeney said on KFM that he would be back on the pitch if not week, then definitely the following week.
I presume that's training pitch & you can probably add 4 to 6 weeks before we see him play but would still be good to see him get games in the league at some stage

Sending out crossed messages it seems, in the Kildare post Geezer says "We will be hoping to get him on the pitch next week or the week after, he still has a long way to go but there has been huge improvement in his condition" Also he says Dermot is a "wee bit ahead of schedule but he has a tough hill to climb"

| getting him out on the pitch - that literally means doing some jogging - it no more means 4-6 weeks to playing (after 18 months out!!!) than 2+2=5........... he's a long road to travel and he's been out on the field before, jogging etc... but it's good that he can start again and fingers crossed.
Doing the maths, if all goes well with Dermot, you're talking June or July and that's everything going well... you'd have to assume that even if he does make it then, it would be off the bench... hopefully all does go well.

| good news ta hear there on the mend. Agree with alot of whats said above just having Dermot there in and around the lads spuring them on is worth a couple of points. We saw how they reacted with him after the Meath game and what he did before the Down game coming out to give the talk beforehand. | |

| We need Dermot Earley on the pitch. Thats where he's worth a couple of points to us! We were cleaned out in midfield completely against Down without him(albeit without Flynn too). | |

| Any team in the Country that is missing it's two first choice midfielders would struggle never mind in the furnace of an All Ireland semi final. Saying that I'm sure Geezer has his eyes fixed firmly on getting an alternative midfield two. Maybe he'll alter the style a little and set up a bit more like Tyrone who don't have a dominant high fielder like Dermot. | |

where did this information come from???? Rob Kelly was unable to play for UCD on Tuesday night due to flu and is training. As was stated in other posts, Mikey is due to be back running in the next two weeks - but judging by what Geezer said in the interview, I get a feeling that they will involve Mikey in a match situation in the near future - if anything that might be as a morale boost... Agreed on Dermot - but do lads think Earley sits at home twiddling his thumbs while he is out injured??? He rarely misses a session. Always wants to be involved.

| They were missing Rodgers yes, but Gordon has been full-back for some time now and will remain there so they were only missing one, although a hell of a midfielder in fairness who has improved no end since Gordon was moved to three. | |

| No reason why we can't be in the mix next year with the players we have providing these injuries clear up. Cork kept coming back for more and finally get there, we have as much drive and talent and will probably going through an era where there aren't the same giants out there, so here's hoping. | |

| Wouldn agree tommy, the giants are still there maybe not as tight as they once were but they're there. The gap has just closed on them. Plus throw into the mix a rejuvenated Dublin, Cork with the taste of victory. Down also. It's wide open. Kerry and Tyrone will be back next year, make no mistake about it. |

Head would know because he goes to the training sessions, I haven't been down yet
