| I think they were pencilled in for second week of July when the fixtures were drafted at the start of the year. Open to correction on this. But as you say Ogie it may now depend on the County Minors. | |

| is that not the day after: 1. the leinster football senior and minor finals (kildare will be involved) 2. oxygen weekend in punchestown. i think it would be very foolish to expect clubs to play the day after both events. great fixtures planning here. | |

| correct there sillycow, that was mentioned at county board meeting and the response from the top table was, tough, so what, get on with it................... there lies the problem, i'd say they never even thought of county minors fixture or oxygen. | |

| Kildare Minors play Dublin in the Leinster Minor Football Semi-Final in Parnell Park on Wednesday 29th June 2011. The result of this game will determine when our club Minor Football Championship will commence
If the result goes in our favour we will qualify for the Leinster Final and the All Ireland Qtr Finals. In this case Round 1 will be played on Sunday 17th July with Round 2 & 3 to be confirmed at a later date. Otherwise Round 1 will be played on Tuesday 12th, Round 2 on Monday 18th & Round 3 on Monday 25th July.

| Anyone know what it means when you get a bye - I presume it means you get two points? Does anyone have the draw for round 2? | |

| when you get a bye, it means that there is an odd number of teams in your championship or league, you do not get awarded any points, every team in your group gets a bye and each team plays the same number of games and when each team plays one another, the top 2 normally go through to the next stage if it championship..................... | |

| thanks GAA web for the fixtures - that's not right overthebar because every team doesn't play each other, there are only three rounds. Anyway, I found out, you get the points.
From what I remember last year though, they don't seed the quarter-finals. Sure they don't in any championship. So the two teams at top with three wins could face each other. How stupid is that? So there's no reward for getting your wins. Logic suggests 1 v 4, 2 v 3 or 1 v 8, 2 v 7, 3 v 6, 4 v 5. But I don't think it's what is done, so you could have the two best teams meeting early on.
Of course, that won't bother whichever is the best team! But it might rob the competitions of the final it should have | |
