Well done to the lads showed great fighting spirit and made some comeback. Fair play and well done again on reaching the leinster final.

obviously the lads involved really care as they could have thrown in the towel at half time. good result lads and good to see reward for the exttra training being done over other counties. dont think there were many counties back training in january 1st

Castledermot ,has the makings of a good player ,who played well for the Juniors last night ? ,great to see further misery inflicted on the royals.

Great comeback, some super scores mixed with some poor stuff. Entertaining game and as said before me great spirit and fight shown by the lads.

Standout players were Fitzpatrick, Lawlor, Fagan and O'Keefe. All in the second half it has to be said because the first half was a poor showing, direct ball in wasn't working and players didnt seem to react at all!! Fair play to the management who are too often criticized here, they made good changes and turned out a complete different team.

One huge question remains to be answered though . . . . . . . . .Who will Seanie be cheering for Wed week??

Playing Cavan in a Leinster final tells me not many counties really care about this competition it should really be run with an open draw with what ever counties wants to take part.

Not a word on the Juniors lads. The final is on tomorrow night is it not.

Yea final tomorrow night in Newbridge. Looking forward to it. Hopefully they'll get good support at it.

Cavan 1-13

I assume it was a good contest , anyone with a insight on how the game went tonight ??

Kildare lost out to Cavan in the Leinster Junior Football Championship final on a scoreline of 1-13 to 0-9. Cavan were deserved winners on the night.

Kildare started with the first 3 points of the game from Bolton, Hanafin and McNally. Reilly grabbed the first point for Cavan. Kildare only managed 3 points for the remainder of the half while Cavan added 1-04 and the Ulster men were ahead at half time, 1-05 to 0-06.

At half time Joey Keogh replaced Jamie Lambe while Barry Lawlor went to full forward with Dan Flynn going to midfield.

Walsh and Keogh added early second half points for Kildare but Cavan kept control scoring three points of their own, however 2 of these were controversial.

The Lilies only managed 1 more point in the second half and Cavan ran out comfortable winners. Kildare finished with 14 men as Darren Barker got a straight red card.

Kildare JF: Clinch, Walsh, Fitzpatrick, Barker, O'Shea, Burke, Fagan, Lawlor, Feeney, Lambe, Hanafin, Flynn, O'Keeffe, Bolton, McNally.

lads we were very shaky in the FB line under the high ball and then were playing too tight when taking it from the back.
normally i wouldn't whinge but i got a lift to the game with a cavan man and he was takin note that after 15 mins we had a free count of 12-3 against us and in my view Cavan did a lot lot more pulling and dragging especially towards the last quarter.
ah still like that Cavan team have lads with Ulster U21 medals and a fair few who have played SFL with the county already this season.
the lads were game but just not able for it. thought flynn showed well and a few great runs.
hard luck lads but that new system was always going to count against us this year.

Thought the referee was shocking myself. Whistle happy and blowing for every little thing. His umpires werent much better. Very indecisive two points that were sure wides were counted for Cavan. That been said Cavan deserved their win much the better team in the second half.
