| Hi everyone, I know this may already have been posted before and so thank you to everyone who has already taken the time to complete my survey on the above issue. However, I still need as many more willing participants to fill it in as possible! So if you can spare 15-20 minutes it would be very much appreciated. Your participation would be truly very valuable in contributing to a better understanding of how the performance of CPR and the use of defibrillators can be improved and may also help to raise further awareness of sudden cardiac arrest within the sporting field. Anyone aged 18 or over and who is actively involved in the GAA in Ireland be it as a coach, referee, player, spectator etc can take part. The link is: www.gaacardiacarrestsurvey.com Thank you for your time. Emma Walshe | |

| an massivechallenge for the GAA aswell as widespread cardiac screening would be to replace the batteries in the defibrillators that were given to clubs nearly 10 years ago. Most of these are useless at the moment as they have been lying idle for years. | |

| The defibs should be serviced every 2 years or in line with manufactures instructions , as you may know this was a big bugbear with me this year , and happily i pressed my club , and got the club to raise the issue at county level which in fairness the county obliged , if any club wants to avail of cardiac screening contact K O Neill who shall pass on info or location of where or how to avail of this screening , I think she sent out a notice to all clubs saying if enough clubs are interested they maybe able to arrange a screening date central to all clubs interested , its no harm to have this test carried out every 2 or so year with players 14 to 40 in our clubs , I would high recommend it | |

| Thank you to everyone who has completed my survey thus far. I agree; cardiac screening should be promoted and clubs should be made aware of how and when to maintain an AED. | |
