| Just want to wish the Camogie team all the very best in the Junior Premier final on Sunday against Laois. We have won this competition 3 times so far, the last being in 1990. For those of you who mightn't be in the know about this current team, I would like to briefly synopsise how far they have come in only a few years.
In 2008 they began their journey to where they are now, as they forged a new era and new team. That year they had a very young team with only the bare few experienced stars like Mel treacy and Ciara Tallon. They were in Division 4 of the league and in the Junior A championship, gaining promotion in march of 09. Over the next few years they went from strength to strength and progressed to Division 3 of the league and they won the Junior A (Nancy Murray Cup) All Ireland Championship in 2010, while also winning the Leinster Title the same year. They then were promoted in 2012 to Division 2 of the league whilst also Competing in the Championship Semi finals, only to be knocked out by Meath. This year alone they Contested the Division 2 Final of the league where they met a very experienced Limerick side. They won the Junior Leinster beating Sundays Opposition Laois in the final.
This years championship has being a tough campaign with Kildare being defeated by Laois in the first round, while the scalps of Down, roscommon and westmeath were claimed where they also defeated Down in the Semi final by 5-11 to 1-13. Hopefully they can get one over on Laois in the final. The side are well balanced and battled hardened and I would urge all to travel up to croker and shout them on. Come on Kildare!!!
Also the U-21 Hurlers are in action on Saturday against Kerry in the 'B' Final. Throw in is at 3.00 pm in Thurles. The lads are aiming to make up for the defeat in the final last year to Roscommon, whom kildare have beaten in the semi final, after being down at half time by 1-8 to 0-03. Heres Hoping they can turn over Kerry and claim the title. It would be great for the development of hurling in the county. Last year was a game they should have won. Best of luck lads.
Heres hoping for a double for Kildare at the weekend!!!!

| Hard luck to the Under-21s against Kerry yesterday. Losing to a last minute goal like that is tough but you can be proud of your performance.
Best of luck to the ladies in the camogie against Laois today.

| Clo has TWO camogie All-Irelands and a football, though she was in such a camogie zone yesterday, she had forgotten about the football. As she said, the day was about camogie. Kildare were by far the better team and have made some progress in the past six seasons. Tom Mahony deserves so much credit, as do the board for starting from scratch.
The hurlers must have a bitter taste in their mouths to lose in the fashion they did. Not the late goal, but the refusal to grant a stonewall penalty seconds before. You don't get more stonewall. And people might say it was two points but Kerry got a point straight after the goal because of the quick puckout. A penalty at two points up and the odds were very strongly in Kildare's favour.
