The hurlers of Kildare powered through to the Christy Ring Cup semi-finals with a 4-18 to 1-13 victory over Derry at Banagher. Early goals from David Harney, Martin Fitzgerald and Tony Murphy laid the foundations for the Lilywhites, and there was no way back for the Ulstermen when Fitzgerald scored his second.

| Well done lads.... Considering the new management team are only in place a few weeks it's a great result. Derry is a tough place to go to at the best of times. Well done and hopefully they can keep it going... | |

| Great win and what a difference a couple of weeks make. Kildare will go into the Semi final against Wicklow with renewed confidence and even more time for the management team to develop their style of play.
The Semi final is to be played on Saturday 21st of May in Aughrim at 2.30 however on the GAA's Master fixture schedule for the CRC both semi finals are to be played at neutral venues. I wonder when this change of mind was made and I presume all 4 semi finalists had to agree with it?
Taken from that master document (http://www.gaa.ie/content/documents/publications/fixtures_and_results/GAA%20Hurling%20Championship%202011.pdf)
21.05.2011 (Sat) Semi-Finals Round 2 (A) Winner v Quarter-Final Winner Round 2 (A) Winner v Quarter-Final Winner Subject to the avoidance of Repeat Pairings, where feasible, a Draw shall be made to determine the Pairings. Semi Finals shall be played at neutral venues. | |
