Stephen Maxwell was appointed Senior Ladies Manager tonight. Don't know much about him however a Google search shows a spell with Trinity Ladies and he was head of Gaelic Games & Gym Instruction, Bray Institute of Further Education.

Should bring a different focus, with possibly more emphasis on fitness.

I missed this. Interesting indeed. I know absolutely nothing about him. Hope he freshens it up a bit and is allowed to do so.

Some more info;
Kildare LGFA are delighted to announce Stephen Maxwell as their new Senior and Under 21 manager for the coming two years. Stephen was ratified at October's county board meeting.
Stephen brings with him a distinguished coaching career; he has a BA in Sports Leadership and lectures in Sports Science.

For the last 10 years Stephen has coached elite athletes and in the past five years he has worked with Senior County Ladies players as a manager, coach and a diet and nutrition consultant. His previous experience includes working with Dublin Development squads; he was also part of the backroom team to the Longford Ladies and also as manager of the Trinity College Ladies when they captured the Lynch Cup.

Stephen’s backroom team will include ex Dublin Senior Footballer, Niamh McEvoy, an all Ireland winner in 2010. Niamh is also a qualified coach and brings with her an array of experience at playing for her county at the highest level.

Sounds promising, hopefully we start to see some decent results.

There are some good young players, minors of the past few years, most of whom have already played,

and I hope many of the players who were missing in recent times are encouraged to commit........
