| Straffan's clash with Thomastown is not a semi. It's a QF. | |

| Moorefield played very well yesterday. Scoreline flatters Rathnew. Got a very soft goal near the end. Moorefield moved the ball really well and played very intelligently. Gameplan worked very well and some standout performances by Adam Tyrell, Kevin Murnaghan, Eanna O'Connor , Ryan Houlihan and man of the match Roly Sweeney.
Best I seen Moorefield play all year and thats 2 back to back strong performances now. Seem to be hitting their stride at the right time. Big test against Rhode especially in Tullamore but have to say I was impressed by what I saw yesterday despite Rathnew being pretty average.
Great turnout from Newbridge down there.

All three football teams still alive - all away too unfortunately. I think all three will make their finals. Straffan will hammer Courtwood who are very average. Eadestown should take the Louth lads. And I think Moorefield will edge Rhode.

Nice little clash in Tellamore,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, sure those big strong Moors will be hot favs against rubbish Offaly,,,,,,,,,,,
Rhode do have a few decent players but probably a few too mant "average" lads against a team that can affoard to hold back Darryl Flynn as a impact sub,,,,,
Must be sure I get there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Not to be cruel after a fine season that surprised many on here including myself but have a couple of good friends within the Louth club scene, they deride the state of their own championship, spoke before game about O'Mahony's and regardless of location that's an absolutely sh*te result. Really, really sh*te. Sorry, just being honest. | |

They had Cian Bolton black carded just after throw in. There's no doubt they would have won if he had stayed on the pitch.

| Sean O'Mahonys had beaten Castleknock in the last round. They can't have been that bad a team. | |

I have seen them 3 or 4 times and with the exception of the rathangan game when tommy o connell put him in his pocket , cian boltan was outstanding . Wouldnt be at all suprised with todays result with boltans black card

And the Louth junior champions also knocked out the Dublin champs so I think TK's mates might be pessimists.

| JTB not going deep in last year's IFC Leinster and All ireland was a disgrace but if a good but not great outfit like Eadestown won a Leinster it would be equally disgraceful from the point of view of the standard of intermediate in Leinster. | |

| Expectation for this competition is high in Kildare, with Confey / Maynooth / Monasterevin all doing well in recent years, however it is a tough competition and i don't believe any team apart from Monasterevin have won it playing away from home?
Without slagging anyone off JTB were always going to bottle it at some stage last year and Eadestown were probably the weakest team to win an Intermediate Championship in Kildare for some years.

| Louth champions at intermediate level have performed well in past few years. O Connells (beaten by Monasterevin in final 2 years ago) and Geraldines (Leinster champions last year) followed by an O Mahonys side who are having a good season.
Given its away from home and that Cian got carded early on, its not a huge surprise. JTB being beaten last year was more of a shock in my opinion.
