| Sarsfields were very good, agree it will be a Newbridge final again. The 2 lads who went to Oz will be big additions to the county team. Matty Byrne should be very much in JOCs plans to start midfield. Con Kavanagh good too. Serious marker laid down by the county Champions. | |

| Can they meet in the final? Looking at the draw posted here it will be a semi-final. | |

| You're right, semi final . Usually drawn to meet in the final, good to mix it up. | |

| Some teams putting down early markers over the weekend St Kevin's gave Nurney a hiding. Raheens doing there survival prospects in Div1 no harm by beating Larries. Moores and Sars starting well. Suncroft intent on getting out of Div 4. While Div 2 is going to be a minefield | |

| 1 Quarter Final Group A Winner V Group D Runner Up 2 Quarter Final Group D Winner V Group A Runner Up 3 Quarter Final Group B Winner V Group C Runner Up 4 Quarter Final Group C Winner V Group B Runner Up
Semi Final Quarter Final 1 V Quarter Final 4 Semi Final Quarter Final 2 V Quarter Final 3
Moorefield are in Group B and Sarsfields are in Group C so I don't think they can meet in a semi-final. Could meet in a quarter final if either team doesn't win their group.

| Athys recent failings came to light again Saturday. The 2 Ds. Depth and Discipline. Mccarron gone back to home club and is going to be a big loss. Athy will do well to make semi and won't go beyond it unless the discipline improves greatly |

| Enjoy this short window of football. I cannot see a scenario where we're going to see games in a few weeks. Risk is too great i think | |

| I notice a lot of counties are ' streaming' their county championships this year, Cork, Offaly and Clare to name but a few and charging €5.00 per game.
Any chance Kildare could do the same, shouldn't be too hard to arrange, particularly from St. Conleth's Park.

| I know Kildare GAA have a media partner, can’t remember what their name is but could they not provide this service? Maybe there are rules from GAA that it has to be provided by Nemeton who do all the games for TG4 but I agree definitely something that needs to be explored and soon as first round of games is less than 10 days away. | |

| Nemeton are in place for a lot if counties but Westmeath abd Clare are doing it themselves. Reading that Clare bought the kit for 20k and got trained up, although you wouod imagine the oerson on camera would beed to be decent and experienced. Did I miss any updates on distribution of tickets? | |

| Very worrying to see a team give a walkover in Div 1 of the senior league. Hopefully Confey can get it together to finish the season. If it is a COVID situation, will the county board give them some grace on this. | |

| The future looks bleak for Confey. They barely have any underage teams. Soccer is the big game up around there sadly. Big town clubs like Leixlip, Maynooth and Kilcock should all be doing better but they are taking their eyes off the ball. | |

Agree, but Confey is subject to an ageing population. There are very little numbers at underage as most of the area is an ageing population. Other interests also take over in Confey such as Soccer and Rugby and they have lost out as a result. Also, no new housing development has taken place in Confey since the 1980s, whereas in our side of the town, (Leixlip), we have had development on a regular basis and our numbers are massive at underage level. We are definitely making inroads into popularising our club with our big population, but it takes a full generation to see the benefits. There were periods in our club where we took the eye off the ball and we are seeing the damage of this with our Senior mens teams in both codes suffering at present. Hopefully the hard work we are putting in now will have it's rewards in the future. Kilcock are definitely making strides with their numbers too, so I don't think it's fair to say they are taking the eye off the ball. Confey simply don't have the numbers at the moment, they have been top-heavy over the past 10 years - great numbers at adult level and success, but little underage. Ourselves (Leixlip) and Kilcock are bottom heavy with great numbers at underage but weaker at adult level.

| Soccer is widely played everywhere. Thats no excuse. Confey won the league 4 years ago and have a good set up. Be amazed if they couldnt field a team. Possibly another explanation. | |
