Can’t see inter county being finished out this year. Cancel inter county. Let remaining club championships finish out and leave it at that. Then go again in February or March.

I agree with that except for suggestion to play remaining club championships Cantona. I think they need to be postponed to 2021 now... the celebrations after county finals all over the country were embarrassing for GAA people and it was irresponsible.
If we allow more county finals to go ahead we run the risk of the same thing happening again and that would be a really bad look.

I think the county board should postpone the remaining county championships until February 2021. It's so unfair on the players still training only to be pushed back every 2 weeks or so.
Move it to February next year and let these teams wind down now and restart training in January 2021 if possible then.
This decision has to happen and happen now. Cant have players hanging around and training for games/competitions that are not in reality going to happen for the foreseeable future. Currently all Clubs are only a covid case away from having to shut down anyway. Postpone the games until Spring and bring some certainty. Hopefully by then we can have spectators back at the games also.
I completely agree with the above, I suspect that we may be looking at split seasons next year anyway with club getting the first half of the month as I would imagine the GAA will want to give every opportunity to have 80,000 people at both All-Ireland finals next year which would mean delaying it as lon as feasibly possible.
Never thought of that Topcat........you could be right. I know all the split season proposals have county first and then club but I hope that club get's first dibs on players like this year and then the inter-county in Autumn. That would be brilliant.
I think the Junior and Minor football championships and possibly the hurling could be played in February and I'd say its unlikely to interfere with any inter county squad training either ( except the senior hurling final ) which helps more it more possible.
Currently we have numerous teams still training, maybe as many 20 teams, approx. 400 players, with little or no chance of playing before Christmas. Is this a risk worth continuing.
Still waiting on a statement/directive, not good enough !!!!

I see Laois have postponed all outstanding 2020 Club games out to Spring 2021. What are Kildare County Board waiting on ? A vaccine !

Inter County Minor now paused. I think they need to put this to bed both club and inter county for young lads once and for all. This stop start and will it or won't it is only playing with young lads heads. Playing these in Feb or March is not ideal either with Leaving Cert Mock exans on. If next year is anything like this year those exams could turn out to very important.

All outstanding Kildare Gaa club championships fixtures have been 'deferred' until 01st February 2021 at the earliest.

Good that a decision has been made and players can take a break for now. Given that some competitions need to be completed in February what form will the club season take next year? If it can resume will it be club first in late spring/summer and inter county in the autumn/winter again? Or vice versa?

Rumour has it that this years under 17s will be eligible to play with adult teams who have championships to complete in February 2021. If this is the case, would any of the junior A teams be gaining an underage star or 2 to help their championship prospects?

Can't see that being true Halfback. It's a 2020 competition so only players eligible to play in 2020 should be available.
However, if you are correct - Caragh have 3 lads on the current Kildare minor squad who would become eligible in 2021.

I was skeptical myself when I heard that. I was thinking to myself that if a team gained a one or two county minors it could change the course of the competition. I didn’t know Caragh had that many on the county minor panel though!

Couldn't see Caragh being beaten this year anyway but that would be a huge boost. I have no problem with minors allowed to play in later stages in February or March. The rule is there to stop clubs throwing lads in before they're ready and if they are now of age let them play away.

Hard to see Caragh being beaten however I would be against these players being allowed to played in the Junior championship if the Minor is also being re-started.
By all means if both championships are completed early in 2021 then progress up through the ranks for 2021 league and championship.
I think the 2020 championship should be finished out abiding by the 2020 rules.

Folks when do you think we will see club matches again. I know they were hoping for February but with cases going up again now and the inevitable rise after again after Christmas January will probably be another clean up operation. Your probably looking at March at best and hopefully the vaccine will be rolled out at that stage.

I can't see any club football until June 2021 at the earliest, I sincerely hope I'm wrong but that's just my own opinion.

Have noticed a few club players back in the gym etc now that were back to level 3. Pre season earlier than ever this year.

What’s gonna happen with the Intermediate relegation, Junior championship and Reserve finals that weren’t full filled last year? Looks like a messy situation.

Whatever about Reserve finals, relegation and Junior will have to be completed unless county board decide that the 2020 promotion/relegation at inter and junior will be cancelled?

Yeah and scrap the minor championship as well. Those chaps have mock exams and leaving cert to concentrate on now. The good is gone out of it at this stage anyway. They could do what they did in the schools rugby and declare both finalist winners.
