Well done to all, had to win the final 2 games and did, no more could be done. V Cavan, a joy to watch in the first half , more direct , quick ball into the forward line, you got to trust your forwards, relaxed and fell back into old ways in the second half. V Westmeath , against a more defensive team, kept going , got their feet and found ways to put up scores, all in all , some hope for the future, best of luck to the lads in the Championship, to get to the Lenister final and put in a performance . Got to congratulate one of our past managers Kerian Mcgeeney on taking his native county Armagh from div.4 to div 1, great achievement in a short space of time.

Good shout re McGeeney.... he has proven again that he's a very good manager. I try not to think about where we might be now if he'd have been allowed to stay on! It's too painful!

Well done to Kieran and Armagh but I don't think they were ever in division 4 (1 year in division 3) and he's been there 5 years. Of more interest to me would be the achievement of Davy Burke, getting Wicklow promoted in his first year after winning the county championship with Sarsfields and All-Ireland under 20 with Kildare. He seems to have the winning touch.
Very encouraged by Kildare's performances in the last 2 weeks. I think the young players are finally making their mark. It's great to see Jimmy Hyland racking up the scores at senior level, Darragh Kirwan has been impressive as well and I thought Aaron Masterson and Mark Dempsey did well yesterday. It's great the way Paddy Brophy has turned his game around through hard work. Mick O'Grady and Mark Donnellan have also done well.
The team has looked stale in the last couple of years but there are signs of hope again. Hopefully it continues but the team has to keep working hard to improve. As any Kildare fan will say - it's the hope that kills you!

2 wins, look in decent nick. 2 relatively consistent performances with a new team.
Great to see Hyland and Masterson starting to establish themselves on the team along with Dempsey. There is still more fruit to be picked from the u20 all ireland winning team but that's a good start. Celbridge lads too able to put aside the stick they got rightly or wrongly for the circumstances of there club elimination (both performance and post match debacle)
Offaly or Carlow whilst won't be easy should be taken care of if we are switched on and match their work rate

Think its the right level for us at the moment - Glad how we played since we came back - Build confidence.. We would lose all 7 in div 1. If they gain promotion next season, it will be hard earned and worth it.

Div 2 is going to be some fun next year.
Kildare Mayo Meath Cork Down Clare Laois Westmeath
Two of those won't be playing tier 1 championship. It'll be Carnage.

Just one thing that is a major improvement on previous years. In the 7 league games we kept 6 clean sheets. We have not scored enough goals going the other way though but clean sheets is a nice foundation to build upon.

Just looking at Down been promoted, bad form by Longford in not fulfilling their last game against Cork which could have gave Derry a chance of been promoted.
I know Down would have probably played their full team against Louth and not lose to them as happened.

I thought all teams in Div 2 2021 will play tier 1 championship in 2021?

As the Tier classification is not now being used for the 2020 Championship, logic would suggest that the League that commences in the Spring (?) would determine the Tier classification then for the 2021 Championship?

Exactly - That's what I thought. That would mean that all Div 2 teams in NFL 2021, including the the teams promoted to Div 2 this weekend, will be tier 1 for next years championship.

Think Meath have been competitive in most if their games in Div 1. Like ourselves a few years ago they could have picked up a few wins. We will have to reach the level we were at in 2017 to beat them I believe.

Meath have been very competitive. Would we get withing 4 points of Dublin? Not a chance in my opinion. I expect us to be very competitive next year but remain in Div 2 unfortunately

Watched the game at the weekend Kildare did what they had to do played well against a defensive Westmeath.
The one thing that should be done away with in my opinion is the advance mark there is no need for it, it is a stupid rule that does nothing for the game hopefully it will be done away with after this year.
