Straffan v Raheens: This is a tough one to call, Straffan finished 3rd in Div2 while Raheens finished in mid table and will look to Noel Byrne and Alan Igoe to inspire them. I'll go for Straffan based purely on the fact they have better scoring potential in Rob Kelly, Austin Allen and James Devane. Straffan by 2.

Eadestown v Ballyteague: Another hard game to call, Eadestown won the Div2 league fixture between these two by 4 points and with Emmet Bolton and his brother Cian calling the shots, Seamus Hanifin and co will have it all to do. Eadestown by 3.

Kilcullen v Nurney: Kilcullen have had a terrible year so far, finishing rock bottom of Div2 with only one win, that win was against Nurney's first round opponents Robertstown, a game that Robertstown won comfortably. Kilcullen will look to Darren Barker, Jamie Lambe and Cormac Aspell while Nurney will welcome the return of Mikey Conway, if he can get enough quality ball inside to his brother Martin, Andrew Behan and Brian Cahill, Nurney should prevail. Nurney by 1.

Which ever team loses the Nurney kilcullen game will be releaged to junior. Kill, Kilcock and the losers of Straffan/Raheens will not be relegated so that game might as well be the relegation final!

If sash win Naas will be a hard team to beat,

Celbridge and larries another cracker

Carbury seem to have the easier draw

If athy get through the moorefield game will be a cracker, we owe them one but they are our bogey team we always struggle against them.

Larries have another match to win before they play Celbridge. Ballymore came very close to beating Celbridge today so should put it up to them in round 3.

Larries bet Ballymore fairly handy last year in Newbridge wouldn't really be expecting anything different this time round. In fairness to them Ballymore put it up to Celbridge but it was a poor disjointed display from Celbridge.

No, St. Laurences only beat Ballymore by 2 points when they played each other in the fourth round last year and Ballymore lead for the majority of that game. The final score that day was 1-12 to 1-10.

I'm not expecting us to win any championship but I knew we'd put it up to Celbridge today and think we'll give Larries a good game of it the next day too.

No one is really setting the world alight in the SFC yet. Celbridge and Moorefield were laboured today and I got the impression that Sarsfields were only doing enough against St Kevin's. I haven't seen Athy or Larries in action recently but they both have tough draws ahead.

Could it be Carbury's year?

Looking at the Intermediate Championship any one of 4 or 5 teams can win it. Robertstown could cause a shock and win it.

Ah now the score line does not tell the full story their lily4life, larries were more than comfortable throughout that game. If i remember correct Paidi o neill dominated Kavanagh that day!!
I doubt Laurence's will underestimate Ballymore unlike Celbridge today....

We'll have to agree to disagree on that grabber. Still think it'llbe a close one the next day. Looking forward to it. Sarsfields are going to be the ones to beat this year I think.

Lads,
Anyone else think that Round 3 matches should have neen played before the quarter final draw.

Moore field will be playing a team they played earlier
Good chance Naas v Sash
and Maynooth v Carbury.
Also a chance of Celbridge v Ballymore.

Should they have tried to keep teams apart.

1 Athy V Clane
2 Confey V Maynooth
3 Sarsfields V Leixlip
4 St. Laurence's V Ballymore

Quarter Final

Moorefield V Winners 1
Naas V Winners 3
Celbridge V Winners 4
Carbury V Winners 2
