We all know the year ended badly against Kerry but did have some decent wins in the championship. With that in mind who was our player of the year?

Paul Cribbin for me. Eoin Doyle, Niall Kelly and Ollie Lyons were good as well.

Paul Cribbin was head and shoulders our best player I thought.

Wouldn't argue that the others mentioned contributed a lot too.

Hopefully we'll have a few other contenders also next year.

Thought it would be a straight decision between Lyons and Cribben.

Lyons was probably the only player that stoof up against Kerry.

Lyons, always a tight marker but got more comfortable with ball in hand.

Thought the ones who stepped up this year included Kelly, Cribben, Lyons and Doyle. My player of the year would be Cribben. Young player I want to see next year is Neil Flynn.

In terms of individual games I would say Cribben, but for the year overall it has to be Doyle. The only player I saw in the league who consistently actually looked like he cared. Put in some very good performances in the championship and drove the team on as much as he could when others went into hiding.

So my vote is for Doyle.

Without opening a New Thread.. Lol Donnie Kingston got an All Star nomination.. While We are the only Quarter Finalist to recieve none. Jack Mac will peobably get Player of the Year, and I see the Young Player being a close call between Brian Fenton and Diarmuid O Connor.

Kingston was very good in the four games he played but it's ridiculous nominating him when his team only managed to beat Carlow and subsequently dumped out by the powerhouse that is Antrim.

I can't believe they left out Darren McCurry and put Peter Harte in the forwards. John Heslin should be in there ahead of Kieran Martin as well.

Fair Point on McCurry Taibi.. imo Cian O Sullivan should have got a Player of the Year Nomination.

I couldn't agree more on O Sullivan, the main difference between Dublin last year and this year was his redeployment at centre back. He may not be as flashy as some other players but is one of the most effective/important players in the country.

Brian Fenton isn't nominated for Young Player of the Year. He's too old.
Nominees are Ryan McHugh, Diarmuid O'Connor and Ryan Wylie.
Diarmuid O'Connor should get it in my opinion and McCaffrey for Player of the Year.
