| Hi All
I am surprised that no one mentioned the Leinster proposal on providing Games promotion officers to clubs on a shared basis and for a fee. It was brought up at a meeting 2 weeks ago along with the St Conleths development.
Its a tricky one as it may be a good idea but it is costing money too??
Anyone any thoughts on what the feeling is out there on it?

| Isn't it a case of the GPO's being employed by the county board and Leinster Council and paid for the by the Leinster Council - this is where the €150,000 a year will be going over the next 3 years, and the funding from clubs would cover the cost of additional new coaches on top of those paid for by Leinster?
More coaches the better really, and at least these extra ones would be optional for clubs. You'd hope with new GPO's being appointed that the level of coaching in clubs and schools would increase anyways.

| I think it's an insulting offer made by the GAA to try and cover their arses rather than make any actual change in what's happened. So games development in Kildare to bring us up to standard will come to about €191,000 if we take it, while Dublin's will remain at around €2.7m. That's just GAA money of course. PS a smaller country needs more money than Dublin, not proportionally the same, to make up for playing number imbalances. Again, not saying Kildare haven't done a lot wrong or Dublin haven't done a lot right, but this is how the GAA views us (and everyone else) and them. | |

| I think the clubs get NO coaches unless they pay | |

| What is the general feedback coming from clubs around the county. Are clubs going to go for it. A free year would be ideal so see is it worth investing into from a clubs perspective. | |

| Is that not the case anyway. Where a coach is shared between clubs i.e a club in the D category is shared between 6 clubs at a cost of €3300 per club and a grade A club has a coach shared between 2 clubs at a higher cost | |

| Wouldn't be aware of exact breakdowns or categories but I know clubs are expressing interest and talking to each other | |
