| So Sarsfields , Monasterevin and Clogherhinkoe are the teams representing the county . Obviously Clogherinkoe came through their first game and im not sure as to who they play next. But Sarsfields play the winners of Rhode(Offaly) vs St.Pats(Louth) and Monasterevin play The Fighting Cocks(Carlow). How do people fancy these three teams chances of progressing throughout their respective Leinster campaigns? | |

| Going to be very tough for Sarsfields. Rhode will be favourites against St. Pat's, and home advantage would more than likely have them favourites against Sarsfields too. Plenty of experience in that Rhode team, with a very dangerous full forward line, be a big ask to get by them to be fair. They'd also have a good few lads who would have been on the fringes of the Offaly panel over the last few years as well as a couple of lads from the under 21's too, they've come close to making the breakthrough in Leinster a couple of times now so they might well be thinking this could be their year.
After that you'd be more than likely looking at Garrycastle or Kilmacud in the semi final. Again a big ask. Portlaoise are bound to be heavy favourites for Leinster outright, after them you'd be looking at either of the Dublin clubs as a close second, with Rhode, Navan O'Mahoney's, either of the Westmeath teams and Sarsfields all around the same level I'd imagine.
Athy did very well last year, despite being a very inexperienced and young team, so no reason Sarsfields can't do likewise this year really.
Wouldn't know much about Leinster club football at intermediate or junior level. Maynooth, Confey and Ballymore have all sampled provincial success over the last few years which is a good reflection on the standard at that level within the county. The Fighting Cocks is some name for a club.

Jeasus lads they couldn't be that good, Didn't Moorefield beat this team in the Leinster final in 2006,Did Rhode become that great in Offaly in 6 years.

| Club is totally different to County. Cross are the king pins yet Armagh would be poor enough at the moment. Garrycastle brought them to a replay in the final last year but Westmeath are having a rough time of it. Six years is a long time in football,. | |

NOt comparing like with like there King. This Sarsfields team have won their first title in 7 years and have little or no experience in Leinster. That Moorefield team which won Leinster had a few county titles under their belts. An abundance of experienced players and were an all round better team than this current Sarsfields team. They beat Rhode by some distance in that final and were a kick of a ball away from beating Crokes in Limerick. Sarsfields have done well to win the Kildare title. I'd say if they win a match or two in Leinster they will have done well.

Sarsfields have done well to win the Kildare title. I'd say if they win a match or two in Leinster they will have done well. To be fair to Rhode I'd say they've improved over the last six years. That defeat to Moorefield was they're first time in a Leinster final, and since then they've won three more county titles and pushed Kilmacud all the way in two provincial finals (one of those times Crokes went on to with it outright). They'd be a much more experienced team than they were six years ago, probably more confident too, and with home advantage I'd say a lot of people would make them favourites against St. Pat's and Sarsfields.

| Tough game for Sarsfields most definitely . Seen Rhode in the county final and there very strong could be a tough day for Sarsfields if Rhode come through againest St.Pats. Dont know too much about the junior championship and havent seen Clogherinkoe play so im not in much of a position to comment . Id fancy Monasterevin to come over the first hurdle in Leinster againest The Fighting Cocks as rumor has it they arent up to much and Kildare intermediate football has proved to be one of the strongest intermediate championships in the province. | |

| I was talking to a rhode man the other day and he did not fancy his team in the leinsters he feels they are average enough, and the champship in Offaly was not great this year, I expect Sarsfield to beat either team. | |

| Clogherinkoe are a stand alone club, they don't recruit from neighbouring clubs. Any victory is as a result of hard work by THEIR own players and mentors.
Larries ladies......... well where would we start about their recent recruitment drive?

| Went to the game in Tullamore today, Pats are a serious side, very well organised defensively and in Keenan and Finnegan they have two extremely talented footballers, I believe Rhode played into their hands though by allowing the Pats no.6 operate as a sweeper and not pushing up everywhere, this allowed Pats to build from the back and have overlaps everywhere. it will be a serious challenge for Sarsfields especially in Drogheda but this is what players tog out for to face down these challenges and see where they rate. | |

Just to let you know that many Rhode folk at our senior final were of the opinion that they would beat the pick of the two teams out that day. Little did they realise that they would not get the chance as they had to beat St Patricks. I must commend me workmate here who advised me that St Patricks were the bet of the year to beat Rhode. It will be difficult for ye especially as the game is in Louth but ye will learn a lot more about your team after this one.

| Obviously big boost to us if we can get the game in Newbridge but home advantage didn't do Rhode any favourites and Pats brought a sizeable and vocal travelling support with them. | |
