Yeah. Kildare will now bring the motion to Congress in the new year to try and get the rule reversed. They are not on their own apparently as Laois also passed a similar motion.

| Was one of the reasons given for moving minor to u/17 because u/17s couldn't play adult football and therefore there would be no reason to hold up adult championships for the county minor team?
Will this require a 2/3 majority to get carried or will a simple majority suffice?
I think it is a good motion from Monasterevin and no surprise it was carried at our convention but I would expect a large degree of push back on it from Croke park given that it was one of the many committees up there who introduced the rule in the first place.

If they can't get a website up in over a year, not sure I'll be holding my breath for that new changing rooms and stand to be completed by the time I get my bus pass.

If they can't get a website up in over a year, not sure I'll be holding my breath for that new changing rooms and stand to be completed by the time I get my bus pass. To be fair, they deserve plenty criticism, but planning is in the lap of the gods and they deserve credit for restoring the county board to a sounder financial footing, being able to pay off nearly €200k in loans is fairly significant, while at the same time making further improvements to Hawkfield and having a budget in place to do up HQ, if they get go ahead. That the convention went from burning crosses and pitchforks to a snooze in 12 months is the greatest testament to what they have achieved in the last 12 months I guess, as far as the clubs are concerned at least. The failure to attend to the website is abysmal - but again, there was a new PRO came in mid-term as part of a general restructure of the publicity side. It hasn't happened but it would be a real disappointment and negative if they couldn't sort out their primary source of information and marketing in 2017.

| Lads, the website is nearly there and will be launched before the end of January. It will be a well structured site with lots of information on all aspects of the county's activities. The PRO is doing trojan work on it at the moment and hopefully once it's live it will be updated constantly with fixtures, results, tables etc. There will even be an option to purchase jersey's and merchandise on it by linking to our retail partner Elvery's Kildare GAA site.

| To give the PRO her dues, she is doing a great job in promoting and getting information out there. Far better than it ever has been.
Huge improvements on that side of things.

| Whatever you think about the county finances, most of the credit has to go the clubs. They are the ones who are paying €50,000 plus in repayments for Hawkfield and also the ones who are going door to door selling county board €100 tickets which was forced on them by the county board. IMO the clubs as usual are doing the donkey work and the powers that be are getting the credit. Noting new there for the clubs which will always be second class citizens by county boards and croke park. Hardly any wonder we are in the state we're in as a county and little or no interest in county setup from clubs. | |

| That may be the case but not one Club complained or mentioned it at this years convention. The only view you can take from that is that they are happy with how things are being run.
If they are not and they don't bring it up, then there is no one else to blame.
