Came across this channel on youtube - great source for old footage.
Our entire 2000 and 2002 campaign intertwined with whole season. Good to look back on the days that were. Jaysus Tadhg Fennin was great!

Who is the Offaly number 11 at the start of our game in 2000, seconds into it? What a mustache! Surely worked as a postman. PS the graciousness of Micko when you realise he thought we'd lost during the interview.

One thing i notice about watching the clips back then, How poor Johnny Doyle was did he score at all? its amazing when you give a chap a bit of time to developed what he could turn out to be...

He was never a scorer in the early days but had an amazing engine. That was more his role in the team - provider. "Poor" is very unfair.
What got me about the first video (haven the been through it all yet) was the crowds at keinster Championship matches in Croker back then. The Louth game in particular - for a quarter final - amazing support for Kildare. Same for Offaly v Meath. Not sure if either were double headers with the Dubs but the Louth game seemed to be a sea of white. It was such an occasion back then to watch Kildare in Croker in the championship. And other counties felt the same obviously.
So sad to see what Leinster has become. Not sure what the answer is - probably need to scrap provincials altogether and re-balance funding somehow. Of course all leinster counties need to get their own house in order as well which in fairness we seem to be doing to a degree.

Ps. The Galway fans had an inflatable dingy at the Leitrim match (2000). I don't remember that being a thing?

An odd bunch that Galway crowd are KE365! As far as I can recall most were standalone games, such was the interest and competitiveness of Leinster Football in those days! KE v offaly 2000 both days were stand alone fixtures. Massive Kildare support, particularly the second day out. I loved when we used to pack out hill 16! The fact that all were knockout games also improved attendances.

Sam 1928 - Can only think of a few occasions since 2001 that it was as white as that - v Antrim in 10 and Tyrone in 13 stick out. If we had a decent venue it would be great to pack it out for a first round tie in the Leinster Championship.
