| Re Athy. I doubt it'll be outside the club ... any money is tied up in the purchase of the lands around the club | |

Again this seems to be a costly appointment? The money being spent on managers is an absolute disgrace imo. Clubs living beyond their means in a lot of cases
Niall Cronin is the manager, a Naas clubman, secretary of the club when he was 18 years of age, started off in management with their 3rds, won two minor county championships, he won't be costing anything. They would traditionally have very strong links with Mayo in terms of former players, like David Nestor who is still in the town and club. Wouldn't have been a stretch to make contact. Of course he's getting a few bob, I didn't see anywhere how much so I don't know how costly it is, but every outside manager is getting paid. Sure we all know of players that came into the county that got paid to choose particular clubs over another. So the money being spent on managers has been spent for many years - Ireland soccer international Paddy Mulligan was paid to train St Laurence's back in the '70s or '80s - but it's being spent at junior club level for years so I don't know what the big shock is about.
Nothing Against Naas. Made the same point on Curran going to Celbridge. I think something needs to be done here. I see money being spent in all clubs in Kildare on these senior managers and in most cases there is NO DIFFERENCE in the position of the club after their term. There are plenty of good managers close to every club in Kildare or even club members (as is the case with Naas) where surely they know enough about training teams to do the job just as good and at half the price???? Have you any idea of finance involved or are you just making unfounded assumptions on what clubs are paying? My guess is you’ve absolutely no idea on the deals or structures put in place

| Naas are only doing what they think best to try and win a championship so my opinion is good luck to them and hopefully this will help raise the profile of football........... Any other moves on the Club Management Front - in or out?? | |

My guess is you’ve absolutely no idea on the deals or structures put in place JJ nothing unfounded. CLUBS ARE paying big money for trainers. As I said nothing against Naas. Its across the board and would be rare for any senior club NOT to be handing out €10000 and the rest for a years training. THAT IS A FACT So you can relax. Nothing to do with Naas.

| Mark Murnaghan has ballykelly back training 6 weeks ago doing s&c . No doubt getting a few bob per session. Then walks out on them for the Hollywood Job in Wicklow. Bad form

| Athy will stay in-house I think!, Both Eillstown & ballymore will be wrapped up this week from what I'm told. Ballykelly not looking as they have manager since 2nd week in November.
