Any idea why Naas were awarded the u23 game against Sarsfields?
apparently some lad from sash was sent off during normal time and wanted to come back in extra time telling the ref it was a new game and got aggressive over it so the ref walked off

I know teams can go back to 15 aside in extra time if they have had a player sent off in normal time. I don't think they can use the player that was sent off but I am open to correction

Think if a team is reduced to 14 in normal time they can bring back on a player to make 15. Player that's sent off remains off though
Happened to us a few years ago, first year of the black card. Leagie final and had a player on a yellow and then got a black card so he was off. Extra time came and officials (ref and linesmen) said he was ok to come back in, our manager was also a ref and thought the same. Won the match in extra time, opposition appealed to CB and result was reversed at next county board meeting

Anyone know why Sarsfields were thrown out of the competition due to the actions of a “senior official” who wasn’t sanctioned. The County Board seem to have made a very fast decision - posting the fixture for the Naas Clane game and then taking it down. Seems like young lads are being thrown under the bus. Is there a precedent for a team to be thrown out of the competition like this? Even in recent incidents where the referee has been actually assaulted the team has continued in the competition with the assailant(s) receiving bans

I see Tommy Callaghan in todays Leinster leader has really put it up to Naas u23 to offer Sarsfields a replay .What does anyone think of that ?

Good point but what are sarsfields doing about the behaviour of the person that was sent off? from what im hearing they`re defending his actions but he must have done something to seriously piss the ref off and thats not acceptable referees need to be protected from any form of abuse and it seems to be an accepted culture in the gaa that you can talk to refs in any aggressive form you like when you feel a decision has being giving wrongly against you.
